I found its useful, gives you something to tweet about and you can try and get people interested in your app before it comes out and leak out information slowly.

Might generate more of a buzz when you actually release your game.

You're required to provide a support site URL when submitting apps.

Definitely! Any website that can house your game, info, and trailer will be a good.
I find when I have to submit press releases, they always ask for direct website link for the game.

Definitely and absolutely! Your website will affect players' first impression on your brand.

Having a website is a really useful tool for lots of reasons including:

You can sign up for the iTunes affiliate program so any traffic your site sends to Apple will earn you a small percentage of resulting sales.

You have a base to talk more about your game, present additional screenshots, host videos, deal with customer support, have FAQs for your game etc.

If you're going to develop more than one game it's the place to cross-sell your titles.

You can have a newsletter sign-up so you can make contact with the people who play your game so you can promote your new games and updates to them when they come out (not everyone is on Twitter or Facebook or Plus).

I'm sure there are a bunch of other reasons, but I hope these help!

Are you asking if you have to pay tax on payments you receive from Apple?

The very simplistic answer is yes. If you are resident in the UK and you are a UK taxpayer, then income from developing apps would count as income. If you're going to be self-employed and you really don't know anything about your tax responsibilities, then you might want to consult an accountant about what you need to do to set everything up. If you don't have the money to employ an accountant full time, ask friends and family if any of them know an accountant that might help you.

It also gives reviewers a way to contact you if they want to.

Depending on what you need/want, I could set up something on wordpress, tumblr, or blogspot for you pretty quickly and for free. All you would need to do is pay for your own url (so it's not xxxxx.blogspot.com but yourwebsitename.com), which isn't very expensive.

You should speak to a tax professional.
