The winners of last week's Game of the Week poll are in... First Place: Swoc: Of Swords and Blocks [10 votes] Second Place: Plax [9 votes] Third Place [tie]: Botanicula [5 votes] THird Place [tie]: Talisman [5 votes] Last week's GOTW thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=227135 The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. Releases active before Saturday are eligible (even if they aren't listed in this original post), weekend releases can be nominated the following poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be Touch Arcade forum's Game of the Week. Please note: 1) Developers, publishing partners, or affiliates cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote for it. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it. 2) This voting is for TA members with some activity. If you have to ask someone to create a new account to vote, you're doing it wrong. 3) Suspect votes may be void. 4) Game updates, no matter how significant are not eligible for GOTW. There are enough new games to nominate that haven't been considered before. Notice of this poll may be given in the threads of all nominated games. You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New" tab. http://appshopper.com/games/new/ 1849 [iPad Only] Thread 2-bit Cowboy Thread Adventure to Fate: A Journey To The Core Thread Aliens Drive Me Crazy Thread Castlestorm - Free to Siege Thread Crystal Reign [iPad Only] Thread Dark Lands Thread Devil Shard Thread dEXTRIS Thread Frederic - Evil Strikes Back Thread Furious Stars Thread Gunship X Thread Kiwanuke Thread Last Inua - An Artic Adventure Thread Lumena Thread Record Run Thread Rogue Heroes Thread Soul Caliber: Unbreakable Soul Thread Warhammed 40,000: Carnage Thread Credit to Ap0calypse, ImNoSuperman, TriggyWiggy, Arta, TheFrost, and EchoSeven for the GOTW legacy.
Warhammer 40k: Carnage Castlestorm Devil Shard Gunship X 1849 Could Castlestorm please be added to the list, Thank You.
I added CastleStorm to the original post; thank you. I added Rogue Heroes to the original post for now but it's up for discussion. Rogue Heroes launched on 4/15/14 then was pulled on 4/18/14 due to complaints the art too closely resembled Scribblenauts; apparently the developer changed the art. Since Rogue Heroes was only available three (3) days previously my opinion is to include it; but open to objections if any.
Kiwanuka (te kanawa) Aliens drive me crazy (level twins) 2-bit cowboy (9-bob note) dEXTRIS (ambi) Mutated Sea (redonkulous fishing) Quite a good week, all in all - mutated sea could benefit from Game Center though. Oh, and Doug Dug.
Here is the outcome of nominations with the top 10 making it for voting. Dextris 7 Kiwanuka 6 Last Inua 6 2-bit Cowboy 5 Aliens Drive Me Crazy 5 Castlestorm 2 Devil Shard 2 Doug Dug 2 Rogue Heroes 2 Warhammer 40K: Carnage 2 --------------Top 10-------------- Zombie Road Trip Trials Furious Stars Lumena Gunship X 1849 Mutated Sea
Last Inua has pretty graphics and a great story, but the gameplay is bland and the controls are frustrating. dEXTRIS is perfect for a 5 minutes break Aliens Drive Me Crazy is a great and fun runner, with neat ideas. Kiwanuka (I wrote it perfectly for the first time without having to double check xD) is one of a kind, one of those beautiful unique games that only comes once in a while, so its obviously my vote.
Dextris and Aliens Drive Me Crazy were fun, but Kiwanuka was just a polished, premium, visually-awesome experience, with intuitive touch controls and tricky puzzles So it gets my vote
