It was about time that someone brought back the reasonable pricing to the AppStore. I like to see more AAA titles on my iDevices. And they still are only 1/2 or 1/3 of the price of DS and PSP games.
Are YOU serious? You bought Mission Europa for $10 (great game by the way) and you aren't willing to spend $14 on the most incredible port ever to hit the appstore? (Okay, maybe that was a little dramatic) Seriously, this game is totally worth it. I probably spent $30 or $40 for the DS version and I never regretted it, $14 is a steal for this game. To each his own, but I'd say you'll be missing out. I for one will be proud to show this off to my friends
Wth Omg not using Unreal Engine!!!???? 14 dollars!!!!!???oneoen11 *rolls eyes* Insta-buy. Wish it would show up on the app store sooner I have the day off... EDIT: Can someone verify file size? Need to make room on my iPhone...
Chaos Rings was £7.99 and that was poop lol Just saying they know its a big title so are greedy for asking so much, who knows maybe 1/2 of proceeds will go to Japan?
QFT. Plus, anyone who doesn't want to pay $14 has the option to wait until a sale (which there will be one at some point in time). Take your pick: get the game earlier or get it at a lower price.
That's right. May this end all pricing whinings in this thread. Wait for the sale if you're not ok with the current price. First in line paying peanuts for a great game? Play it first or play it cheap, your pick. Don't be greedy.
They already donated 100 million Japanese yen (1.237.000 US-Dollar), plus donations from all Square/Enix employees. They've done more than the needed to do. Don't get too greedy. @ mashead: calling S/E greedy after knowing the facts about their donations is just mindless behaviour. You're the one who is greedy, by asking for ridiculous low prices for quality games. Stop trolling the forum.
Whoa, what are you quoting me for? I know about the donation. Someone in the forum pointed that out a few days ago. Just sayin' it would be nice if they were to donate again. But it would despicable if they charge this game high so that they can regain all the loss from that donation sooner.
They charged the same for Chaos Rings. So I expected this. It's a long, fully grown 3D title. with a lot of content. FFIII for DS was priced at over 40 bucks in the beginning. And can you finally decide if you wanna either bash around on Square / Enix or cheer them? You're changing your behaviour towards them on a daily base. Despictable, Schnespictable. Can we please go back to the discussion about the game now?
I won't pay 13.99 mainly because I already played it on the DS but also I think $14 is too high for a remake. If it were an original game $14 would be a great price.
Chaos Rings is NZ$16.99 and FF3 is NZ$19.99. How are they the same? [EDIT: Maybe CR is on sale at that price and is originally NZ$19.99, in that case I'm sorry.] Chaos Rings was made with iOS in mind from the ground up and to this day iOS is still the only platform you can play this game on. FF3 has been released on DS and I can understand the 40 bucks pricetag because if they were to sell it cheaper, it would drive nintendo and other DS game devs mad. You can go and have a pizza at pizza hut but don't expect the same price at domino's, but they sell pizza all the same. Sure, call me names. At least I'm not biased. I criticize everything man. Just because you've fallen head first in the whole capitalism thing doesn't mean that you have to drag everyone along with you. You wouldn't understand unless you live in countries that suffer the toll of "globalization".
I can't believe Square Enix is greedy enough to charge money for their games. placeholder garbage bin thread
Oooo, it's the "hey I failed miserably at econ 101 but I want to educate the entire forum on pricing theory" thread. This is a welcome addition.
LOL I thought this was a legit thread until I saw who posted it. Right on xP. Stick it to cheapasses. I, personally, am really glad SE is pushing the price point.
Just to end this matter: I'm not calling names and I won't. I'm just criticizing people who criticize everything... Seriously, I see Square / Enix behaviour as a big chance for all iOS gaming fans. When S/E are able to price their games higher than the usual AppStore prices (although still reasonable prices) and then make quite a bit money with that, other game companies will notice this eventually. So S/E might have quite some influence to lure other companies into iOS development. They'll bring more AAA titles. It's a win/win situation for iOS gamers edit: Yay! Epic new thread title!
