Looks like all the Star Wars pinball IAP is reduced from $1.99 to $0.99. If you love Zen Pinball, 50% off is never a bad thing.
Maybe not every table is "great," but they are all absolutely worth $2, let alone a buck. Love having some 100+ pinball tables on my iPad between Zen, TPA, Zaccaria, Color Monkey and Timeshock. It may not have buttons but touch controls are ultra responsive and work really well, and portrait orientation is a fantastic plus. So great to have on-the-go.
Re: Zen Pinball IAP pricedrops Anyone know the filesize of any of these tables? Purchased one, and assumed that it was included (but locked) with the original file. After the purchase, received a message saying, "You are about to download a very large amount of data. Start now?". How much data, exactly? Another related question, if some in-app purchases require a download of additional data, why aren't any related filesizes also listed in the store, along with the in-app purchase price? I had always assumed that in-app purchases were included with the original file, but based on the alert I received (see above), apparently this isn't the case? Can someone please explain? The App Store really, really needs several, if not many, major improvements. I won't even start about the ambiguity of the listings of many 'in-app' purchases.
I have 52 of the tables installed and it takes 1.1 Gb on my iPad Air2. Total, inluding the App. Seems like a resonable ratio to me.
Re: Zen Pinball IAP pricedrops I guess that's reasonable if you have a lot of space, but what about someone that doesn't, how are they to know beforehand? Just because some people have a 256 GB iPad Pro doesn't mean that everyone does. There are many people that only have a 16 GB device. Apple got my money on this one, I chose not to download after making the purchase but then receiving the warning about the very 'large file '. Guess I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it, didn't lose as much. Still I wonder, if some related in-app purchases require the download of an additional file or component, why Apple doesn't disclose or make this information available in the store, for applications that have an IAP? Why is this information hidden?
The individual tables aren't really that big, despite the warning. Something between 20-45mb, I'm guessing, judging by the size of The Pinball Arcade tables. To be fair though, you couldn't honestly have thought a 46mb app contained all the data for some 50-odd 3D tables, especially given that they release new tables regularly. It actually makes more sense to not include the data for tables you haven't bought, because you don't want to download a bunch of unused data onto your device. I don't think they "gotcha." Oh, also, you can still download the table. It says "buy" but when you click it it will tell you that you already purchased it and prompt the download again.
Re: Zen Pinball IAP pricedrops I guess I understand some of what you are saying, but the practice of not listing filesizes in the store for additional data or components that are required to be transferred or downloaded for any in-app purchases still sounds very deceptive to me. My question still is, why is there a need to be this way? The filesize for the original application is listed, why not be fair and list the sizes of any or all additional components, instead of playing a game of 'find me if you can' with the customer? If Apple intentionally hides this information in the store, can someone please tell me an easy way of finding it - before having to make a purchase? I'm still looking for an explanation of why anyone thinks this information needs to be hidden from customer view in the first place.
I dont think it was intentional to "hide" the info. It's just that it wasnt a priority to place the info there. And if it was, it seems it would be the dev's responsibility to add it rather than apple.
Can anyone point to a product info. page in the App Store that has a listing of IAPs, including their related filesize(s)? This is something I have never seen.
