    Small gameplay video:

The video was filmed using authentic 1977 disco video equipment so the quality is lacking but the authenticity cannot be beat.

    ;)

So is this essentially Avalon HD or is there more to it?

Yes, it was intended as Avalon HD originally but I decided to merge an abandoned game into it, called Words, and sprinkle a bit of disco dust on it.

The difference is that Disco Blocks has combo chains, multitouch, responsive environment and considerably better graphics and effects(imho).

The combo chains totally change the gameplay. The blocks do not shatter unless you tap them, so you can add more and more blocks together in an effort to get the big bonuses at the risk of overwhelming the screen and losing the game.

It plays quite nicely and is a very glitzy game.

    Submitted to Apple.

Also added OpenFeint support with a leaderboard and a few achievements.
