I am seriously sad to see how little press this game has received.
Battleheart does not own the game-archetype they invented just as Diablo doesn't own that game-archetype. There will be many more of this kind of game and in all honesty, I think HvM is easily 2x better then BH. BH was very very very simple and had almost zero decisions you had to make while HvM, though MUCH more grind-oriented, has loot with varied unique stats and challenges that can't be overcome with 2 hours of gametime. I played BH to the very end maxing my chars levels via grinding bosses for ages and the lack of decisions to make is somewhat disheartening. In HvM there is always the next level to try and achieve. At first it was getting new skills on my chars, then getting shiny items, then getting shinier items, then beating end-game bosses, then getting +bonuses on the shiniest items ... ect. I fully endorse this game and I wish it got more press. The controls are obviously less polished than BH, which gets annoying but it's easily worth it to actually get to think about what classes/loot could work in a given situation. The only real complaint I have is the loot from the arena. I have a setup that will run through 45 stages without much manual input (2 lvl 31 archers with full perfect dps gear + 2 lvl 31 clerics with full healing gear) and then die to get the BEST possible loot but I have no idea how many times I have to do that before I have it all ... the lack of available info makes min-maxing very difficult. -Druin |

Good news! Update 2.0 is pending approval for the app store right now, it should release sometime next week!
The main addition is the VS arena, where you can face off against other players' heroes (AI controlled for now). Other additions include new bosses and new gear! Check out the new VS arena and a boss in the gameplay preview! Low bandwidth Version | Pop Up |

Hey I just picked this up. So far i think it's a pretty good game. Quick question. Is it possible to wield a two hander in each hand if you have both the dual wield and the one handed two hander skill?

Okay, first, complete soulless clone.
Now that I have that out of the way, I have to say that I loved Battleheart and loved the style of gameplay that I've never seen done before. I'm asking all you guys: If I made a game with the same CONCEPT: Go into battle, fight monsters, go to lobby, fight more monsters: but different art style and other features, would that be a clone? Would using the touch-and-drag-to-attack style of gameplay be copying if a lot of other things were different? |
