Doesn't look like they do from the reviews I've read I didn't know FF IV was coming either. ravippe Active Member Nov 16, 2012 28 0 0 #3 ravippe, Dec 7, 2012 I did a search ff4 is ff2 basically right? So why are they redoing ff2 again if its already ported to ios. Am i lost here? I know ff4 complete collection was for psp. And it looks better then the current ff2 for iphone.but it already looks nice, i must be thinking of another ff game? Can someone enlighten me? Doesnt make sence for square to re release a release already released lol. NaiveCynic Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2012 58 0 0 #4 NaiveCynic, Dec 7, 2012 You're actually slightly mistaken. Final Fantasy IV was rebranded in the US as Final Fantasy II on the SNES because the real FFII and III weren't localized at the time. The FFII on the App Store is the real FFII. FFIV is a completely different game. It's also my second favorite classic FF (pre 32-bit era) after VI. ravippe Active Member Nov 16, 2012 28 0 0 #5 ravippe, Dec 7, 2012 I did a youtube search and a wiki search and they all say ff 4 was rebranded as ff2 in the us So the ff 2 in the app store is actually ff4 in the japanese translation. So im still confused. I think its a ff2 remake. Im pretty sure. If ff4 is a complety different game then which one is it. Cause wiki says ff4 is the one with cecil and the dragoon guy. Thats ff2. I love that one. NaiveCynic Well-Known Member Oct 18, 2012 58 0 0 #6 NaiveCynic, Dec 7, 2012 Last edited: Dec 7, 2012 The FFII on the App Store is a remake of the original FFII, which was on NES. I just bought ff2 so im gonna ask for refund and go with the updated ff4 I prefer the newer one. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #8 strivemind, Dec 7, 2012 Yup, they're likely porting the DS version of FFIV over to iOS, just like they did with FFIII. bigE1669 Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2009 109 0 0 IT Ill #9 bigE1669, Dec 7, 2012 Maybe... In a year or two. I haven't seen or heard anything on ff4 being ported to iOS. I'm hoping this means next Wednesday evening is the launch of it. Maybe there's hope too that FF5&6 are coming as well. I'd love to have a complete collection of the classic FF games. Maybe a Christmas sale for Chrono Trigger... I just wonder that people are really willing to wait a year for a price drop of 5 dollars. First sale of a S/E game is often around 25-40% discount. But, according to front page, there's an introductory sale for FF IV. I will byte as soon as it pops up in the App Store, no matter the price. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #19 nightc1, Dec 7, 2012 Last edited: Dec 7, 2012 If it's under $20... I may go for it at launch. But I can get the DS version for $20 at gamestop right now and less if I wait for a buy 2 get 1 free deal (which there will probably be one after Christmas). As for waiting, I can wait years for a sale. It's no big deal to me. I think last I looked I have over 1,500 apps and the majority of those are games (and the vast majority of those I got during free promotional periods). At least half of the games I actually purchased were on sale... the majority of the other half were normally $0.99. EDIT: I missed the article on the TA's front page... it says: "The price of the iOS version is expected to settle around $17.99 after an introductory launch sale." So maybe the launch sale will be $8.99 like FF3 right now. killerkat68 Well-Known Member Jun 13, 2012 90 0 0 #20 killerkat68, Dec 7, 2012 Does anyone know if these games will get 4' support?
