Hey guys. I wrote up a blog post about this yesterday, but I wanted to share it here with the community as well. Earlier this month I accepted a job offer from Apple Inc. to join the iPhone Applications team. The whole process was exciting, terrifying, and amazing all at the same time (Just google Apple interview experiences from past employees ). While this new opportunity is great for my family and I, it means that I'll be unable to create any news applications for the App Store. Due to a conflict of interest between independent developers and Apple employees, I can't release any new games or content updates. I'll still be able to support our current titles with bug fixes and the like, and I will continue to do so as time permits. Maybe I'll be able to create a new blog about my new experiences at Apple! (Doubtful thought lol..) I've had one hell of a time with iPhone development. The App Store has given all of us indies a way to express ourselves and sell our creations to others like none other, and I'm truly grateful for the time I had here. Maybe I'll be back one day (but hopefully not to soon ) Thanks to everyone for all their support of Solid 7 Studios! Follow me on my personal Twitter! @brandontownes
Wow. Congratz. For a second I thought u were leaving AppStore coz of poor sales. Bur this is great news And feel free to pm me with any inside news. I'll keep my source anonymous
Wow, at first I was about to yell 'Nooooooo, not another developer gone!'. After reading your post, I'm glad to see this is GOOD news. I hope you do keep up a blog with your new adventures. It's a shame you can't create new games, but I do understand it is a conflict of interest. It's cool they are letting you keep your existing work in the App Store, and allowing updates.
