I have heard a lot of talk of iTunes "closing down" temporarily every year after Christmas. I was wondering if this is true and what it is all about.
iTunes Connect, which is what developers use to submit/launch/edit applications, will be down come Dec. 23rd through the holidays. The store as it is will remain unchanged. It just means nothing new will come out.
Yes. It's just saying that devs can't release updates and new titles on those days. You can still purchase, at least that is what I have heard thusfar.
It is from December 23 - December 28 and only applies to iTunes Connect for developers. Be happy that we can't do crazy price changes all the time during the Holiday season. So if it is only $0.99, then it will be that way until the 28th.
Yes, it's from the 23rd - 28th December. iTunesConnect only, which means we can't change prices, descriptions, or release dates. Anything fixed on the 22nd will stay that way until the 29th. I assume that new releases will still appear, but the devs won't be able to fine-tune the date. Connect will probably crash on the 22nd due to the load... You'll still be able to buy apps but it sounds like we won't be able to see how many copies we sold. I'd say it's likely that the top 100 lists will be out of whack too.
It's probably because the people managing the system want to spend time with thier famalies over the holidays. Let them have thier vacation.
Does that mean scheduled releases in that time frame won't come out? Otherwise people in the new release section will be to sit there for almost a week
