picked this one up a couple days ago. It's a really polished side-scrolling beat-em-up. Thank you for making it free!
just played through the first two scenarios. really enjoying the humor lol "The only thing the dead remember is that I killed them" rofl.
Not sure why, but I decided to play through this one. Probably because I expected it to be short, and it was. Took about 30-45 minutes to get through it all. First free game I've taken the time to beat since 2009, heheh. It's a by the book brawler really. The game's difficulty level is incredibly low especially since everything is on the same plane. You can pull out a few combos; that's always nice. The body slam was probably my favorite move. Found it to be the most useful one at least. Never used the shield once, lol. The visuals are nicely done. The one thing that really stands out is the humor/voice-acting. Definitely well-done there. But yeah, nothing new really but worth the time to check out if you're looking for a quick brawler. Like I said, the game is incredibly easy, including the final boss. Biggest complaint about the game are the controls. You definitely need to make separate jump button on the right side of the screen. Right now, it's incredibly annoying to have to flick the analog up just to jump. Makes the platforming parts of the game very annoying, especially when there are disappearing platforms. That's about it though. I liked the little cinematics in between the levels along with the random stuff Sarge constantly says as you beat up enemies.
Never really used the body slam much, thought it would make it too easy if I kept using it. Used the shield a lot...thought it was cool that it did a counter attack after using the shield. The game was pretty good while it lasted, was fairly fun, but way too short, finished it in about 30 minutes. Also a harder difficulty mode would have been nice, also maybe remove the body slam thing to make it less easier. Overall a good game, but definitely needs to be longer. Can't complain to much as it was free, enjoyed it.

I didn't complete it but the levels are very flat, the move set feels limited like most iOS beat 'em up's (no combos, no grapples, no throws, no positional moves), the enemies feel Like HP sponges, attacks aren't satisfying which I suspect is a combination of the HP bloated enemies and so-so animations (they just don't have the fluidity and at least don't seem to have the frame count of classic titles). Anyway, by the book is a great way to put it and that would be fine if the book were Final Fight; here it's not and, in what is becoming an almost standard complaint, this just seems under-designed. jeffyg3 Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2010 1,251 0 36 #11 jeffyg3, Mar 12, 2014 I really enjoyed this game.
