Yeah, kinda best to almost have the iphone 4s for gaming, at least no problems and most games run ok.
Funny how sv has become the champion of widescreen iphone games, and I icade and hdmi. Devs... We need iphone 5, icade, and hdmi support please! |

And I do like how the 5 fills a 16:9 projector with simple mirroring! (HDMI lag notwithstanding.) P.S. iCade fan here too! |

Yeah... I'd say about 10% of ALL the games I actually want on my phone support the widescreen...
And with many of them not receiving.updates in years, I doubt they ever will. Also, once your finger slips into the dead zone on the sides, the controls become completely unresponsive. It's a pain. |

I haven't found any disadvantage to playing 3.5" games on the iPhone 5. (But luckily I also don't run across that many games that don't support widescreen. I do enjoy a few old abandoned classics, though, and they still seem exactly the same.) |

Definitely. That quarter inch really stands out more than you'd think... It makes a lot of games controls feel like they're in the middle of the screen... And your fingers drift into the dead zones quite often. I never had a problem with this on any other idevice I've owned...
I dunno if because that quarter inch is part of the touchscreen, it has an impact on responsiveness when you drift out of the play area even slightly. It's a real pain. Especially with platformers, DSS and shmups. |

I'm the opposite, granted it would be good if they had widescreen but i know theres not a chance in hell of some of the old classics i love of going widescreen for my ipod touch 5th gen.
I've got 700 apps installed so a huge number of those wont be widescreen, I dont mind, can still play them well, my finger doesnt slide into the dead zone or that. I dont blame a dev for not updating their game as many apps are dead from a revenue point of view a year or so later. I play plenty of games and can easily adapt to non-widescreen games, not a dealbreaker for me at all and i wont stop playing some favourites all because they dont appear full screen on my ipod touch 5th gen. |
