Hi, subject line says it all really. Is it possible, on my server, to check if a given UDiD has bought a specific App? Wondering if Apple have any web-services or something, to check..
I'm not sure if something like that is available, but even if it was it wouldn't be effective. Like any simple check against legitimacy, whether local or "calling home," cracking it is trivial. All a hacker has to do is change the check function to return (legit) and that's that.
Yup, I understand that. It would just be for server-side online functionality that I would block them. Doesn't seem like it's possible anyway, and someone pointed out elsewhere, they can legitimately be running an App on multiple devices (from a single purchase).
Yeah, that's a pretty good point too. But even if it was possible there are jailbreak apps to spoof your UDID anyway, so either way you can't completely rely on it. Yeah, but your world is too far away for anyone to see the billboards...
