So, weird idea: I love Kil.a.ton, I know others here do too. But getting a solid, 6-person game going online is almost impossible, b/c there's never more than maybe 20 ppl online at a time. So, what if TA users just made one night a week (say, Thur) where we know we can log on and find other TA users, b/c hey: it's Kil.a.ton Thursday. Whaddya think? Even if 10 ppl started doing this, it would make online play that day so much more fun. So, yeah? See you guys tomorrow night?
sounds like a good plan. We can provide some coverage/publicity for this. If other people have online multiplayer games they want to focus on other nights, that could work too. arn
Yeah, actually. I don't know what other games have similar issues? Where you need other people online to really make them fun (robopocalypse, maybe?) but it would be awesome if there was a weekly schedule of what everyone on TA was playing. Hell, I'd buy games if I knew they were in a schedule like that. But that a big plan there. All I'm saying right now is: THURSDAY. SHOOT SOME TANKS. I'm in Central time zone, I'll be on like at 10pm.
I'll make sure to be on Thursday as much as possible, not sure if it'll be that late though... (I work early )
Excellent, and a fine idea if I may say so. We are planning on supporting this, on Thursday as an actual hosted, tournament event. The working details are: 8pm-12am EST, 5pm-9pm PST. We will be posting official details to our forums shortly. The event will feature a unique tournament ranking, as well as an experience multiplier, for played games. We have contacted TouchArcade, and are awaiting permission to officially tie the event in with the TA community - we're happy to support this, the more official the better. Regardless of any tie-ins to TA itself, we'll be posting final details shortly for Thursday's event. See you online, Jim Spoto Dot Matrix Interactive Design, llc.
We're pleased to announce that this event will be happening tonight, now with official support from TouchArade! The details are: The event will run tonight (10/29) from 9pm-3am EDT / 6pm-12am PDT Games played during the event will earn double XP for all players The Frag Fest will use kills as the basis for player rankings Results will be kept in a unique tournament table, to track all players Once the tournament is complete, a "Championship" table will be created to track winners (1st, 2nd 3rd places) The official announcement can be found below, on the Dot Matrix forums. We hope everyone enjoys the tournament, and see you online! http://forums.dot-matrix-interactive.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=85&p=293#p293
Great idea guys! Glad to see it happening. Unfortunately I don't own Kil.A.Ton but this may just push me over the edge now. Please post tomorrow and tell us how the tournament went.
