Yep. Of course the real bummer is what it does to the community in the long run. I would assume most of the developers utilizing the tactic aren't all that interested beyond the quick buck...
Yeah, I've noticed some names that surprise me, and it bums me out.
If you look at my FB & Twitter accounts, you'll see that I actually "Like" and "Follow" some developers whose products I actually enjoy and want to help promote, but I can't help wondering what the point is in the end.
Do people assume I'm just another person shilling for those developers? Am I actually helping them or hurting them, based on an assumption with an ever-increasing body of evidence?
