Maybe the dev, rightfully so, is afraid of getting a wave of complaints from iOS 6 users so he's making it free to help reduce the backlash (even though he does have no iOS 6 support listed in his description).

why make it free (and increase visibility) during the launch of a device with the very OS version it doesn't support.

honestly, though it's very unfortunate, because this is a good game.
