I am not sure if the sale is showing up yet in the US because I don't know what the original prices were?
Most of them are approx $6.99, $7.99... etc. Is that the sale price or do I wait?
    Thanks!

Records of the Agarest War seems the most popular porting over a more well known series. The controls are similar across games. Easily a steal at these prices; these are not offen discounted.

Go to gamerankings or metacritic, these games generally get bad / so-so reviews by critics and console gamers alike. I love these kind of games, but after reading some of my more respected critic reviews, I held off in the $8

Idea Factory's games are very love it or hate it affairs, so it's not hard to find negative reviews at all, especially (but not exclusively) in the English press. That said, I think it's important to keep in mind that most of those reviews are taking it as a $60 game, as opposed to a $14 one. I'd have scored Agarest 1 lower had it been $60. At $14, I think the Agarest games are decent pick-ups given the broader App Store market for Japanese SRPGs. At $7 or $8, I think they're a good value. The games are long and drag in the middle, but I find that more tolerable on a handheld than on my TV for whatever reason.

Now, as to the non-Agarest games, personally? I don't think the Souls games are a great buy at any price, but I have friends who love RPGs just as much as me who would go to bat hard for those games, too. They're very odd and quite unforgiving, which is a combo that rarely goes well on the whole, but if you appreciate that oddness, you might fall in love.

Will I miss out if I get the Agarest sequel instead of getting both? As much as I am an RPG fan, I don't fair that well with super long RPGs (Except Disgaea), so a single dose is just right for me.

Spectral Souls has a lite version if you wanted to see what they were like before you bought one.
