Dropship is terrible. Isotope (not really 3D) is really good.

Dropship is awesome! Good ol' retro gameplay with a modern look. Challenging and varied levels = win. It can get tough but that's just another point in the "pros" column.

I played Dropshit for a couple minutes and deleted it immediately. I gave it another go and deleted it again. God-awful gameplay.

It is a game that takes more than a couple minutes to play.. but you are not alone.. it only has a 2.5 star rating even though it is one of the better free games.

Is it that game with this not-very-round-but-good-and-funny-looking-planet? :D

Yep, that's the one :) planet is randomly generated each time you fire up the game. The gameplay is free movement, and fast. Exactly what I wanted. Imagine defender in 3d and that's pretty close. I wanted that kind of manic gameplay but with no movement restrictions.

Ill try and do a new video later ...

Flaw found. I realize I'm replying a little late, but since the only purpose of your post was to argue with me I might as well respond appropriately. I'm under the impression you didn't get very far into Dropship, because the gameplay picks up quite dramatically after the first bunch of stages... too difficult?

Runningman's list is good, but it's a bit out of date. I will update with the ones I have later when I can list them out, but IMHO "Star Pagga" is the best so far.
