Mayhem!

In 1.25 I am adding a lot of new ways to obliterate the environment in funky and inventive ways. Hereís a new video for you, please have a look:

To summarize, you are getting fire arrows for the bow, explosive bolts for the crossbow and bombs for throwing around at leisure.

My chief concern was that the survival mode gameplay would degenerate into a fireworks fest, but I made sure they are not too easy to produce in large numbers. You have to use them carefully and conserve your resources. Not so in creative mode, of course. I think I should rename it ďDestructive ModeĒ as of today :-)

1.25 out on Google Play, soon on iOS

I have just published 1.25.0.0 to Google Play, as announced in the earlier posts. It should become available in a couple of hours.

Please test and let me know of any problems as comments to this post, or via email (candyrufusgames at gmail.com).

Thereís one last minute feature I could not resist adding. When an inventory slot is selected for splitting (has red border), items will drop to the ground from that slot one by one, not all at once.

Hereís the detailed list of changes:

Changed UI drawing engine. Now uses procedural bevels/indentations instead of baked textures.
Changing some audio to use MP3 format
Added crossbow
Added iron bolts, diamond bolts
Added explosive bolts
Added fire arrows
Added sound delay based on distance
Completely new explosions engine, faster, more realistic
Explosions create flying and flaming debris
Last used creative inventory page is saved between world loads
Serious physics bug to do with velocity limiting fixed
Pickables and projectiles optimizations
Tall grass is now a pickable item
Added crafting recipe to obtain seeds from tall grass item
Added throwable bombs
Added smoke trails
Added stone fences
Added rendering support for custom skins
Changed UI to allow user select and manage custom skins
Added support for skins to community content server
Custom skins and block textures are now associated with each world separately, not a global setting
Added content management screen
Explosive pickables and projectiles explode when in contact with fire, magma or explosion
Fixed https issues on Android 2.2
Removed some audio files to reduce loading times
Reenabled preloading of certain audio files on Android
When inventory slot is in split mode (red border), dropping items from it will drop them one by one, not all at once
Tweaked birds UI to escape more frequently and further away
Have fun!

I know this thread is years old.... but I have this game and am not very good at it..... someone gave me a magazine guide on Minecraft, and I was wondering whether it makes sense to buy Minecraft, considering I am not good at Survivalcraft.

I love this game but the wolves, lions and whatnot at my doorstep every single morning gets really stale. I liked the old simplicity of relatively safe during the day, dangerous at night. It gave going out at night an extra thrill. That sense of "I shouldn't be out here right now lol". If the reasoning is: the animals converge on your scent, then shouldn't there be a temporary measure to mask that scent from a flower or a animal extrements or something?
Sounds like a fine mechanic: find some dung for each animal you try to ward off, perhaps let us mix it in some ultra potent ward-all and mark some territory. Let's get hardcore with it.
Or the ol' jurassic park "tie-a-goat-to-a-pole" tactic.
I'm not saying smart/agressive animals are a bad thing, but lions and wolves sitting side by side outside my doorstep till morning, with a few cows carelessly meandering not 1ft away, not ripping those or eachother apart is a bit odd.

Unlesss.. It's a huge conspiracy.

Wolves hanging with cows sounds a bit wonky. I bet that will be addressed in a future update.

I haven't played in a long time, but have been impressed with the amount of content updates the dev has provided. Seems like this is a labor of love. I need to get back into this!

Yep. Can't deny his dedication and commitment to his playerbase. It's awesome. Examplinary developer. I just hope he makes some adjustments soon.

1.26 is coming to iOS soon:

A fierce saltwater fish, from 1.26 on will help sharks make your life a misery!

Forgot to add that itís a nocturnal fish, during the night it will smell you from a long distance and come to get you. During the day itís docile.

I am now tweaking the insulation/clothing/temperature combo. Basically, I am aiming for:

When out in a cold area, you need a proper fur outfit, especially when itís snowing or during the night (itís colder then). You can exist for some time with lighter clothes, but eventually youíll freeze.
In a cold area, when hidden in a completely enclosed shelter you can just make do with your normal shirt and pants, even without a fire. Open the door and youíll freeze quickly. You need the shirt/pants though, naked you die even in the shelter.
In an enclosed shelter with fire going on you can take your clothes off.
When near fire you can survive with light clothes in the open even in coldest areas.
There is a cool effect when you are freezing, Iíll try to show you in one of the coming posts.

I reinstated leather drops from wolves, you can get fur from the bears:

Clothes dyeing
Most clothes can be dyed (with 16 color buckets available in the game), so you can create nearly infinite variety:

New crafting table

Quote:
No clothes on respawn
Because clothes are now a normal item like each other, it would be silly to give the player a new set every time he respawns. In no time he would cheat his way into a huge stockpile.

So in 1.26, you only get your tattered clothes on first spawn. Every respawn after that, you appear naked. Or rather in the boxer shorts :-) Tough.

Iím working hard to get the game released for Christmas. Thereís a new plant coming, with 3-stage growth setup. Almost finished working on it. It is to do with clothes. Iím sure, as usual, you can guess what it is:
