The mechanics in this game are very similar to I AM MT (now known as Epic Heroes).

You're spot on in that regard, but it also feels much more serious than I AM MT ever did. I've been playing this a LOT the past few days, and having a blast. I love setting up my team and then watching them fight.

I'm now onto the 3rd "chapter" of the story and have yet to hit a pay wall. After each "sub chapter" is completed, you get enough of the pay currency to do the "possible" rare draw, plus a couple of uncommon draws, so it's definitely playable without paying anything. I got lucky and drew a 5 star tank...

So, at this point, the stronger cards are starting to reveal themselves in pvp, right? We've got Otto/Brett, randy, and Carlos on most of the best teams.

1) have any of you found that you can counter them if you devote enough to it? For instance, if you know you're pretty much always going to see randy, will a team sporting 3 carol's work to defend against it? Are debuffing healers necessarily better if you can expect to see Otto/Brett? I know that in an arms race, it doesn't really matter because you'll have first turn and win given otherwise similar circumstances. But maybe it pays to throw out a good defensive team to keep others honest?

2) what are some cards/concepts you don't believe get enough run in pvp? And might, one day, see on a competitive team?

3) in the storyline, there seems to be a pretty massive jump in difficulty at the end of the karl story. Is the next step the second Achilles story or dungeons? And whichever it is, where would you suggest someone be (level-wise) before moving on?

Brilliant game, loads of content and very addictive. This may well be the next big TCG. Trading of cards is also available which adds a whole extra meta to the game.

For the F2P crowd, getting in early will pay dividends, as you'll be rewarded the premium game currency, which may become difficult to attain later on, for playing in a less competitive PvP arena.

Although, even for the F2P, I'd suggest $1 per month for +50% exp and 3x battle speed.
