Hey everyone, We are launching a new casual puzzle game, we call it Socioball. This would be our first game since HUEBRIX so I am a little nervous, we have spent a lot of time polishing the game but I would love to know what everyone thinks of it. You guide a ball to a goal tile with the help of various action tiles that you can place in empty spaces on the grid. You can also create your own levels and share them with the world/ tag your friends via Twitter! I have attached some screenshots here. Would love to know first impressions.
Looks like one of those pipe dream games but a lot more complicated? Interesting! I like the simple and straightforward presentation so I can figure out the game from just screen shots. What is the ETA?
Looks great, if a little similar in concept to a few other games I've seen before. But I'll still definitely be getting this; graphics are stellar and it looks like there are great amount of well thought-out levels.
Thanks! Yeah the concept is simple. But one cool thing we are trying to do here is that the game ships with a level editor which compresses the level data into a string of less than a 100 characters, adds a hashtag, level name and tweets the level. The game then queries hashtags and loads the levels globally. You can also challenge your friends by tagging them to make sure they see specific levels in a separate panel in the game. Hence the name Socioball
Looks like the art has became a lot better than the old version I played. I believe this can be a really nice and challenging experience on tablets. In the remaining time I suggest people to play Huebrix if they haven't, it's brilliant: http://www.huebrix.com/
From the screenshots I can imagine the mechanics and I already like it! I would retweet the best levels in a specific twitter account that the game knows so users can get a curated selection of top quality levels (social media can get full of crap!) Is it for iPad only? It looks like it will need a big screen.
We do have a twitter handle @socioball and may decide to use it in some such way. It is for both iPhones and iPads. The iPhone version has a magnified assist to help you place tiles in the correct spot and a spaced out tile palate to enable easily picking them up.
I loved your previous game and I know that I am going to love this one too! I can see from your pics how the game is going to work and it looks exciting!
Thanks Keybol, glad you like it. Hi Lavender, You made my day! I remember we exchanged a conversation about HUEBRIX on this forum. Hope this one wont let you down Would you like to playtest a version or would you rather wait for the final release version?
Loved HUEBRIX, hope this becomes a greater and bigger game, I loved pipe game on game-boy, cant wait to see the end result.
Color Schemes Hey everyone, We are in a bit of a fix about the color scheme. We would really appreciate if you would drop in a vote for the one you like the best. Moved options here http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3374001&postcount=26
Ooh, I'll say the second one. Something about the first and third are a little... 'Sickly', but that's exaggerating. The second is the most vibrant. Enjoyed huebrix too, though IMO the difficulty balance was a little bit off with some levels in there just for the aesthetics of the solution.
GreatEscaper, Thanks for the input regarding the colors. I agree about HUEBRIX, but the puzzles there were so visual that finding the difficulty balance was really, well, difficult Hi Instruct9r Thanks. Working on a video no, will be up by next week, will put it up here.
