Can you survive the mad race through this trippy 8-sided tunnel? “Octagon is like Temple Run but on steroids and with much cooler music and graphics. If you're a Temple Run or Impossible Road fan, you definitely want to check out Octagon for iPhone or iPad.” - Allyson Kazmucha, iMore “Some of the most fun I’ve had with my iPhone this year.” - 9/10 Arcade Sushi “Fast, tough game that doesn’t give a darn about your feelings. Go for it!” - 4/5 Cult of Mac “If you love these impossible reflex games, then you don’t want to miss out on Octagon.” - 5/5 AppAdvice Octagon is a minimal arcade game where you have to move fast or be left behind. As the floor moves beneath you, spin your world around to dodge speed bumps. Flip upside-down to avoid holes, surf on top of the Octagon—whatever you can do to survive the mad race through this trippy 8-sided tunnel. An energizing soundtrack by Sqeepo and psychedelic color bursts keep you in the zone on your race to the finish. But with each round over after just 60 seconds, only super-fast reflexes will beat this very challenging game. Features: - Classic, Endless and NEW Daily mode - Unlimited number of randomly generated levels - Dynamic procedural graphics with a minimalistic iOS7 look - Original soundtrack by Sqeepo - Universal App with iCloud syncing - Pure challenge with no in-app purchases or cheats Tell me if you love it or hate it at [email protected] or follow me at @lukaskorba. Knowing my addiction to hoarding new games for a later date, I imagine I'll buy it regardless but is it different enough from the almighty Boson? tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,067 44 48 #4 tops2, Dec 14, 2013 Last edited: Dec 14, 2013 Both are fun. I started with Boson X and that game is on my shortlist for game of the year. I didn't dig Octagon at first due to the control, but once I switched to the tap controls, the game controlled perfectly. When you die, you can restarted the current layout for the level, or an option to randomize the layout for the same level. If you start with the same layout, you can memorize your way to completing the level. I prefer randomized layout and the game was much more fun once I found out you can randomize the layout. Also, as you complete each level, the subsequent level will throw a different kink in the layout. Its a nice sense of progression when there's something new to see each level. For Boson X, after I "beat" the game..I played it for a few more weeks everyday but eventually, I kinda stopped playing it for now. With Octagon..by looking at the leaderboard, I still have many levels to go and new layouts "twists" to discover, so I'm still playing it everyday so I can progress. Long story short..there's something in each one of these games and not much overlap to me. Both are really fun for me and both are highly recommended. These 2 (along with Solipskier) are the few "endless/runner" games that will stay on my ipod touch for a long long time.
