I'm submitting my 2nd game to the App Store today, and I wanted to post a preview here. It's called V is for Vortex. It's inspired by the game Portal, a simple side scroller puzzle game. It's all hand drawn just like my other game Z is for Zombie. It should be out in early december.

Version 1.0 comes with 18 levels, you can play them in order or go back and play them out of order.

Version 1.1 will add 18 additional levels.

Wow this does look good. So how do we activate the portals by touch of a finger or do we angle it and then press a button?

Could show us a video with an idevice and not a simulator?

And one last thing, you should probably ask a mod to add "a portal like game" so you get more attention.

/brain explodes. I'm horrible at this type of game. Looks like it'll be fun though.

I'm glad you like it! :)

The controls are pretty simple, title to move left and right, tilt back to jump. Just tap anywhere on the screen to open a portal. The player shoots a gun and when the bullet reaches where you click the portal opens.

I'll see about recording the gameplay on my actual iPhone later tonight, I'm out for the day right now.

Oh no, I think that explains about everything. Look forward to picking it up when it come out.

Also anyway that it could have touch controls. Not much of a fan for tilt controls.

Touch controls are on the docket for a future release. I'm still testing them out with Z is for Zombie. Once I've got a set of controls that work well I'll be adding them to all my games.

Good to hear as tilting back to jump sounds like a hassle.

price will be $.99, I submitted it today, so it should hit the app store in 12-14 days, but it's in Apple's Court.

I appreciate that the artwork isn't for everyone, but it's 100% mine :)

The tilting to jump isn't as bad as it seems. You don't need to jump to play the game, I just added it because I hate playing games that you can't jump :). But those touch controls will be coming.

I actually like the artwork and for 99c I don't expect eye-popping graphics. From the levels on the video seem a tad on the easy side. Can you confirm that there will be levels that are more difficult and complicated?

Cool, but don't give away everything.;) Good luck with your game.

Oh and do you plan on making 26 games one for each letter of the alphabet?:p

we'll see, I'd like to, I've got about 10 planed so far including Z & V, so we'll see how far I can take it. It's just me and working on 3 games at once is a little hard :)

Wasn't there a DS homebrew named StillAliveDS? Looks similar. Nonetheless, fun :) Will pick this up once it hits.
