Hey guys... Decided to drop the price of my Unique and pretty popular audio game 'Audio Invaders' to free for a few days to try and spur on some interest before all the christmas game releases and deals come out. Essentially its space invaders in the dark... the invaders are coming down at night in a black and white city, you have to wear headphones to hear the invaders, steer your tank below them and fire to light them up and fire a few more times to blast them out of the sky... Features some tidy 8bit graphics, pseudo 3d buildings and overall a little bit different to your average game. Played the game for a couple minutes today. Played two games. Overall it's an interesting idea, sort of like "Real Sound" on the Saturn and Dreamcast... meets space invaders. But as far as something I'd play regularly, I don't see that happening despite the GameCenter leaderboards. It just seemed a little more frustrating than fun... especially on the enemies that moved left to right and how the flamethrower didn't seem to reach to the top of the screen so it felt like a downgrade from the basic gun. More often than not though I was sitting there tapping away with no bullets despite most of them hitting the target. I don't really like posting negative stuff, just wanted to give some honest feedback. The audio, on the headphones I used only felt right turned full blast but the voice was just a little too bass filled and loud at those levels. Maybe if the game was a little more like space invaders and it didn't require so many direct hits to kill an enemy ... maybe then I'd find it more fun. Sure some would just spray the sky hoping to get lucky... but then the game could get more crazy with enemies... or like Space Invaders, cut the ammo to 2 shots and the have to clear the ceiling before you get more. Best of luck to you.

I really do appreciate it... whether its good or bad its still nice/interesting to hear. The game idea grew and I agree on a good few of the comments. The flame thrower does'nt reach to the top but does do more damage than the simple pellet gun. I was pleased with the concept but agree it needs something else to bring it up a level... to give it more replay value.. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
