    Hi Folks,

I posted the game spec for our new title, Nano Rally a while ago, which included an overview of the game. I can now give you a sneak peak of the game in action. Also, we have decided that the game will be 0.99 at launch, and due to popular demand by touch arcaders we have added in a tilt to steer option. Thanks so much for the support so far, and here you go...

As the video quality has been squeezed for the internet, here's a screenshot of the game...

For those of you who didnt know, Nano Rally is a fun and addictive top down driving game. Players drive miniaturized cars around various tracks, all based on different household environments. One minute you could find yourself power-sliding around the end of a spring onion, then falling off a precariously balanced ruler the next.

As with any rally, the races are time trials, with points allotted for the top times. Players make their way through the different rallies/environments and stages, with the driver with the most points at the end victorious. The game begins with only the Kitchen Rally unlocked, by playing in championship mode players can unlock further environments by placing in the top 10 at the end of the each Rally.

The up to date features list:
    • Beautiful, pre-rendered design.
    • 6 Environments: Kitchen, Bedroom, Office, Garden, SECRET and SECRET
    • 25 different stages/tracks, each with their own difficulties.
    • 100+ different obstacles, including everything from iPhones to candy bars to fish ponds.
    • Customisable car setup, such as acceleration and handling, to suit the track.
    • Control by touch or by tilt - with varying sensitivity
    • Auto gas option
    • Saved best time for each track.
    • Online high scores for each stage, and overall best time.
    • Rendered using OpenGL for superfast play.
    • Single race or championship mode.
    • Resume game option.
    • $0.99

Here are the first posts of full track designs, which are: "Bedroom Rally - stage 2" and "Office Rally - stage 1", your browser might shrink them so don't forget to zoom in!

    The.video.is.awesome!

I'm definately looking forward to this :)

    [EDIT]

It comes to my mind that, is it possible to add random starting location on track each time you play?

that was cool looking, but i'm not sure how you're supposed to know where exactly the track is...it seemed like it was hard to tell where you are supposed to turn

Good point, we are actually working on that at the moment, there will be a racing line to follow - with the exception of any short cuts you might find.

Well sorry as I have no idea about that. I just thought it would be fun if people could choose whether to enable random starting point as even though the track is the same, it would be kind of fresh as you're not really sure where are you and what to expect for quite some play through.

Wow, this looks great. I love the artwork style which, as people have said before, looks a lot like the art used in BubbleHead. It looks like it will be a steal for 99ยข! :D

They have a bigger hit area than the graphic, so they pretty responsive.

Game looks cool, will definitely buy.

I know this is a rally game, but do you have any plans to add computer racers or multiplayer?
I personally prefer racing against others, not just trying to beat my own times.

    Regardless though I'll buy it.

If I were the developer of nano rally, I would be rather careful in using images of an ipod touch and an ipod =D

Yep, we will be doing a peer-to-peer multiplayer update. hopefully this will allow several players at once - with their cars ghosted onto each others screens as they race.
