so i was thinking, multiplayer games like mc: sandstorm, nova, BIA2, and cod:zombies would be even awesomer if they had online voice chat. IT would be just like the consoles. it would be so amazing. not to mention all iphones have built in microphones(duh) and 3g ipods come with external microphones and you can buy them for other touches relatively cheaply. come on, you have to admit its a good idea!
Voice chat is coming real soon. I would guess by the end of summer there will be some games with voice chat
The main problem with voice chat is the bandwidth required. Remeber that Xbox live is a subscription service, whereas Openfeint and the various other iPhone equivalents are not. Perhaps it could be done as an in-app purchase, though...
Isn't that Apple Game Center supposed to be like a xbox live or psn thing? Maybe it will support voice chat
True, but Sony is a company that's rich enough to sell it's current-generation console at a loss. I doubt many iPhone devs are in the same sort of position.
Yeah i triex that with my jailbroken touch. It worked, but you have to now the person. If anybody going to give us voice chat, it will have to be apple or some other company that has the resources. Hec, even text chat would work but voice would be better.
Hmm, incorporating this within a game itself is definitely not going to make it through apple review. How would they come up with anything to filter out the trash that comes out of people's mouths?
