This looks pretty neat.

As these were the folks who created 4 Thrones, I think it'll be nicely designed and worth a shot.

I'm glad someone else thinks so! Though I can appreciate that word games are a dime a dozen in the AppStore, this looks really stylish and the developer pedigree is decent. Looks closest to Wooords to me, which I see as a massive boon.

I'm enjoying it so far. It's very tough, though. I mean, I love word games, but it's pretty brutal and seems to rely more on reaction time than vocabulary knowledge because you really don't get time to think.

Still, I love the presentation and look and feel. I'd like to see some different skill levels perhaps easy, medium, hard just so you can play a bit more of a leisurely game (right now, I'd say the skill level is hard!), however I understand if your desire was to make a quick fire word game.

So few impressions for such a good game

Here are some thoughts:

Lex is a word game by way of the twitch reaction genre and like a lot of the games in that genre, it’s relatively simple. But that simplicity works in Lex‘s favor, providing a fun, visually-exciting experience that anyone can jump into and enjoy.

Lex is all about achieving a high score. Provided with an array of vowels and consonants, you simply tap letters to make words. Different letters have different point values depending on whether they’re vowels or consonants. Creating a word increases your score multiplier.

All that sounds straightforward, but soon Lex reveals its frantic panic-inducing side by introducing a countdown. As you hesitate and struggle to think of a word, the letter tiles begin filling up at varying speeds depending on their point values. If only one tile completely fills up, your game is over. Lex starts out at a sedate pace, but soon you’re racing against the clock to create a word, desperately thinking of a way to clear out letters. It’s a fun, fast, and challenging experience.

Any impressions of Lex would be lacking without a mention of the audiovisual presentation. A colorful minimal user interface opens up to a vibrant kaleidoscopic display of letters as you form words, while a great soundtrack drives the action and adds to the urgency as your timers runs out. Lex‘s style turns what was already an addicting twitchy word game into something artistic and visually compelling.

Since i'm not native english speaking, it's even tougher for me. I just raised my score over 750 points. Looking at Gamecenter - ridiculous low score.
I also would like to see a tweaked down speed mode, maybe then i would be able to hear more of the beautful soundtrack that is playing along, giving you a great tension while the clock's ticking down.

Standing in line and having limited playtime - this is a brilliant game.
