The game is now on sale for only 99 cents. Because the lack of IAP, you just pay once and play forever.

Okay, first off, I want to say that I rarely play runner games.
I play RPG turn based, hack and slash, strategy games most of the time.

Most runners bore the heck out of me. I would rather watch paint dry than
play them usually. The App Store is saturated with them.

This time, because I loved the art style from the screen shots, I decided to
give this one a try.

It's not going to make me a convert , but I really think that those who
play these types of games will find a fun challenge ahead of them.
The intro is short but very well done. Each level has a different
boogey creature chasing you. Game play consists of running and jumping
to platforms to get away from your pursuer.

Floating TV sets and frog like creatures will slow you down should you
accidently hit them. There are shirts and orbs and other pickups that give
you a power to help you on your way. Just tap the box on the bottom left
of the screen to activate the icon inside this box. One power up made my character fly like superman. Stars are also collected as you move foreword.

The art style in the level is very bright, and fun to progress through. There is
alot going on in the level. Hands will reach out to grab you from the bottom
level of the screen. Batteries need to be collected (not sure why) and baddies
avoided. All the while the Boogey Creature is only a few steps behind.
When you complete a level your are presented with your score and distance
traveled. A very nice animated scene plays out in between the next level ahead.

It really feels like a lot of love went into making Boogey Boy.
For those who play these games, the dollar price tag is a real steal.

Thanks

Thank you for the kind words and we hope you enjoy the game. Our goal is to make games with great arts and no In App Purchase.

Here is a tip: You could kill the monsters by jumping right on top of them. The points vary for each monster killed even if they are of the same kind. Use this advantage to help raise the score. When the boy died in his nightmare, his limp body made me laugh for some reason. Sometimes I intentionally caused his death so I could watch his body lying next to his bed.

i played this for the first 3 stages, and here are my impressions :

Really well done on the art style and animations! i like it a lot!
I found the intro surprisingly creepy (in a good way).
The music is beat uplifting and repeating.
The characters, monsters and the worlds are really well crafted, with some very nice powerups!

Things that annoyed me a bit:
1)the jumping sound, especially because almost all you can do in the game is jump, it got a bit annoying to hear it every second.
2)the fact that to finish a stage you have to get the 3 batteries, and if you miss it you go on until you can find it again and pick it up. This made it a bit tedious to me, as i kept missing the last battery for 5 minutes one time in the 3rd world.

Overall, 4/5, if those two things somehow changed, it would definitely be a 5*.. Also there are a lot of costumes to unlock, but so far didn't manage any. Well done, really well crafted game and definitely worth a $$!

Thank you for the write up. For the costumes, you can go out Boogey Boy Site and select support on the bottom right of the page.
From there select Boogey Boy Achievement. It will show you how to unlock all of the costumes.
