Just because no one seems to have responded to this yet, and he seemed to misunderstand how it worked:

You can swipe anywhere on the screen, so no need to cover your character. Basically it’s an invisible virtual analog stick that follows your finger.

Whoops, slipped my mind.

Here they are, the Traal scroll/ note translations (in the same order as I've posted the pictures a page back):

1: •••Spoiler:  The last person to find this was impaled while getting out

2: •••Spoiler:  Beware stranger this is an evil place no good will happen here

3: •••Spoiler:  Only a fool would suffer great danger for little gain

4: •••Spoiler:  These scrolls will not help you they exist for my amusement alone

5: •••Spoiler:  Broken glass cuts deep and nothing here can fix it

6: •••Spoiler:  Sometimes one will see more when one only looks ahead

7: •••Spoiler:  Three wise eyes see no evil see no evil and see no evil

8: •••Spoiler:  Evil twins are twins in evil

9: •••Spoiler:  When all evil faces you wear only darkness

10: •••Spoiler:  An end awaits you beyond here but it is not a pretty one

11: •••Spoiler:  Whatever you do do not collect all of these scrolls a terrible fate awaits

If anyone is curious, I can also share how I started to pick apart the code and eventually got the solution.

I'd love to hear it - I gave this some time but couldn't crack the code.

It was actually quite simple. From the way the symbols were arranged, it was clear that it was a basic substitution cypher. Once I figured out that, I looked at the first note. It starts with ***, a three letter word.
Generally speaking, a three letter word that starts a sentence is most likely to be "the" or "you", with "the" being more likely. I simply substituted the letters (assuming the word was "the") and wrote out the code replacing the symbols I knew.
From there, I was able to figure out a few words and got some additional letters. Once I had those, I moved on to scroll two and got another few letters. Continuing like that I had the whole code solved quite easily.

I actually made a mistake with a letter early on, but moving on revealed it when words made no sense.

(If you're still interested, I can lay out the process with examples)

Aha! It was one of those types of codes. I've done those in the past, so no need to explain, but I definitely appreciate the hint.

I tried looking at color patterns, mirrors, upside down, looking at the scrolls side by side, etc. but I didn't think to try letter/symbol replacement.. I didn't even see that the symbols formed into words. I am obviously not an expert code breaker... :-P

The update is now live!

* Lighting now shows where the player can see
* Best time/stats displayed in the top-right corner
* Make mute button work
* Make crossroads less frustrating
* Glass smash sound effect
* Remove "continue" option if you completed the game with all scrolls

Nice job on the translations btw

I'm glad I found this little gem of a game. It reminds me of the labyrinths I used to draw with my brother when we were kids, where the whole point was to draw a line until the end while not "touching" anything. The swipe controls are very precise, there's absolutely no need for a touch pad. I also love the atmosphere and found the ending with all 11 scrolls to be quite bizarre and impressive. (Even more so now that I've read the decoded messages.) Very interesting experience.
