I'm an iPod Touch 5G owner, but honestly, I would rather have kept my 4G and picked up a Mini had I known they would be out that soon after the new 5G's.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 5G, it's been great, but I can't help but want a bigger screen for reading, gaming. You can't beat how pocketable an iPod Touch is, but the Mini seems like it could go anywhere with me as well.

The iPod Touch does have a smaller screen, but being able to hold it very close and the retina display are huge advantages for someone like me who has poor eyesight. Text is general is much better defined on a retina display than non-retina. As far as games go, you probably wouldn't notice low resolution graphics that much on the mini, since you would be holding it further away from you.
because of bad eye sight you say a small device is better because you need to hold it closer to your face? that makes no sense whatsoever to me.

you can hold any ipad as close to your eyes as you want.. but having a bigger screen means you dont have to..

then again the ipad mini is more high res than the touch 5 .. once your nose touches the 5 you can count the pixels aswell..

of course stuff looks more refined on a small screen but its very uncomfortable to use it compared to its big bretheren.

as a dev i have them all except the mini and the pad4 who are still on their way.. and the ipads are getting most daily use when it comes to media consumption and gaming.. not the iphones nor the ipod touches ( or ps3/360/wii or pc)

just my 2 cents

imho bigger is better and if you can afford the mini go for it..

Default Tried one out!

Tried out the ipad mini at bestbuy, and sam's club. I have to say that it is EXTREMELY light, yet it feels really sturdy, and well made. And the screen is just about the perfect size for gaming and reading, i am going to have to get the ipad mini, even though i will be getting half the gb.

Also i can get a good cover (malware, of course) while the ipod touch only has a few out.

Has anyone else tried the displays at bestbuy/apple store? what do you think?
