Hadn't played this game for a while, but now back to it. Just mastered 4-13 so almost there finishing the game (4-16). Well, after that I still have to 3-star a few levels too. Awesome game.

Basically: the more Meerkatz you save, the less abilities you use and the faster you are, the higher the score

Score = (#Meerkatz * 1000 * X) + (#Abilities * 250)

Where X is a factor that is never lower than 1, and that becomes higher, the faster you are:
X = MAX(1; ROUNDUP(1 - (TimeNeeded/MaxTime);2) * 10 )
MaxTime is set by level design for each level, depending on its length and difficulty.

So, the X-factor is 10 at the start of the level, and it decreases linearly over time with steps of 0.1 until reaching 1 (at MaxTime) and then it stays 1. So in theory you could sacrifice one or more Meerkatz and still get a higher score if the X-factor compensates enough. But since we don't know the MaxTime of a level, the break-even points for such sacrifices are also not known

If I understand well, to put it simple:

Meerkatz bonus: 1000 * M
Ability bonus: 250 * A
Time bonus: 100 * M per tick

I bought this a month ago and am still yet to be able to play. Crashes 99% of the time whilst loading level 1. iPad 3 ios7.

I have played the latest Meerkatz version 1.2.1 when iOS8 wasn't even out yet, so it cannot be iOS version. What exact iOS7 version are you running? 7.1.2 is the latest, I believe. I guess you tried device resets, de-installing apps to free up memory and the likes?

Interesting, I hadn't realized this before , but the score is based on the time when the last meerkatz entered the finish hole. I mean, I can wait as long as I want with using the finish flag button, and let the timer run, it doesn't matter for the score. Good to know! And thinking about it, it is a good choice by the dev This way you can concentrate on the game tactics and don't need to worry about quickly pressing the finish button, no need to stress!

I'm using iOS7.1 - I've tried device resets, my task bar is always clean and I consistently have over a gig of space free. Reinstalled about 5 times now and same result always. Occasionally with wifi turned on it'll let me play first level but it's not consistent so not sure if that's the prob. When the game last had a price drop some people commented in the sale thread about having the same issue.
