I'm just wondering what programs you guys use to create 3D vector models for your games. I'm not referring to static scenery really here, more the animated player the user controls. Thanks.

I use 3D Studio Max and Biped for all of our modeling and animation on the Iphone.

Maya is also a strong graphics tool but Character Studio in MAX is great because it has such a rich editing system and can load many different animations easily.

Alternative software like Blender and Cheetah3D are pretty good too, especially when you factor in their lower cost.

I use Blender (mainly due to it being OpenSource) but I have to admit it's not as easy or straightforward as Maya or MAX.
But if you're starting out or you're on a low budget, Blender will do the job just fine.
