This deserves more than 2 stars. Like NOEN and others have said, give the game a chance. It can't compare to Sky Force 2014, but I don't think it's even a fair comparison. Keep in mind, you're piloting a helicopter, not a space ship with lasers and shields!
This could have been a good game. But everything runs so jerky, even on the latest ipad. The controls are rubbish and why cant I see the objectives, when i pause the game. Hope, this will be fixed in an update.
I've got tons of shoot em ups and they dont need a stylus. They basically have relative touch. I'm stunned when a dev doesnt look at similar games to see what works well and doesnt go with the relative touch option for a shoot em up. Not a chance in hell i'm playing with a stylus. They simply need to add relative touch which is standard for shooters
This. Also why is flying a helicopter instead of a spaceship an excuse for crappy controls? A good shmup needs to have smooth controls, an interesting scoring system and ingenious bullet patterns. Heli Hell has none of that.
They all need a stylus. If you prefer to have a your hand and finger blocking a big chunk of the screen have at it. Or in this case don't. Hopefully they'll change the game to your liking at some point. I'm enjoying this one at least as much as SF. If you have tons of shmups already you won't mind missing this one.
I've actually really come to like this game. I've got the third heli (the Black Shark) and it's moderately better. Also have the 7th gun (Polynomial) and the 6th missiles (Double Fury). You really need them on the harder levels. I just wish someone would explain what all the optional 1 time purchases do. The documentation for this game is crap. Oh yeah, if you want to play level 5 just start the game from the upgrade menu, rather than the mission menu. Nice to find a bug that actually works in your favor!

New update is out! Relative touch has been added. The graphics and gameplay have been improved. The game feels a lot smoother and tighter. They installed size is 449mb. Plays significantly better than before.

Must say trying the game out has gotten my attention. Much better than what I expected after reading the first few posts on the game but then that was before the update and I hadn't played it then.
I hav bn playin thiz beast since it wuz released 7 it keepz gettin better. I stapled a must on permanent magnet b4 each of my grind sessions. Now i can really give em h-e-double hockey stickz
