We'd like to let you know about our upcoming iOS game, Cally's Caves, developed by an independent two-person team in Ontario, Canada. Cally's Caves is a side-scrolling platformer with snappy combat and responsive controls. You play as Cally, who's parents have been kidnapped and imprisoned in a large cave system behind her family home. Armed with a peashooter and a toy sword, Cally must clear the caves of all the horrible enemies that lurk within, and save her parents from the evil Dr. Herbert. Throughout the development of the game, our focus has been on creating a combat system that is fun, and extremely responsive. We also wanted to have metroidvania/exploration elements, and to give the app away for free. Well, the trailers have me excited to play this soon; I'm glad to hear it will be within a couple of weeks. Is there IAP, too?
Anarkitty - there is 1 IAP purchase in the game, which unlocks poisoned bullets and gem drops. The poison bullets apply to all guns, and basically coats the enemy in poison after the first hit, doing continuous damage over time. The gems drop every time you defeat an enemy, and are worth 100 coins (this is in addition to the gold and silver coins you find around the game). We wanted to be sure that you could play the whole game for free, if that's your choice, but the IAP allow you to progress more quickly, and buy all the weapons and upgrades sooner.
