...Or do iPhone/iTouch apps really suck as of late? I'm rather frugal, but I'm a hound for high-end apps and am constantly looking for some great games to play, but it seems that the ones being released for the past couple of months haven't been up to par. Am I just picky or has the quality decreased? If there have been any superb games made in the past few months, please do share. Tilt to Live is a no from me. I know it will probably be the most common one suggested, but I can't make myself play it. Maybe I'm a sucker for graphics or just looking for something that will last a long time. Opinions and suggestions are all welcome. To get an idea of what I actually purchase, here's my current gaming list (in alphabetical order): Ace Combat Adrenaline Golf Adrenaline Pool AirCoaster Anrufen Assassin's Creed (1, 2, and Multi) Brothers In Arms Bust-A-Move (I love classics!) Cogs DDR S+ The Deep Pinball Downhill Bowling Dungeon Hunter Eliminate Pro Final Fantasy (1 and 2) Finger Physics Glyder (1 and 2) Graal Online (I favor MMOs) Grand Theft Auto GT Racing Inotia 2 Labyrinth 2 Let's Golf Low Grav Racer (1 and 2) Parcel Panic Pocket God (I'm only listing it because I hate it) Pool Pro Online Quizarium Ravensword (Big fan of long-term RPGs) Real Racing Rhythm Racer Rock Band Sally's Spa Skee Ball Speed Forge Extreme (The better version of LGR) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Tap Tap Revenge (2 and 3) Touch Pets Toy Mechanic (The Cogs ripoff) Urban Rivals We Rule Words With Friends Zen Bound 2 Across 2XL ATV Offroad
Raging Thunder 2- IMO the best arcade racer in the App Store Sparkle: The Game- Highly polished marble shooter Putt Putt Golf 3D- Mini golf game with many different themes, courses, and amazing graphics Blimp- Came out a while ago but is a solid action platformer Are You Alright?- Time management game based on playing as a doctor Honorable Mentions: Train Conductor NFS Shift
No problem! Also, if you like music games, Six-String looks really good and polished. I haven't played it myself yet but have seen gameplay videos of it.
Wait till IMO comes out? http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=43580 and I think that the quality hasn't decreased it's just that you played too many good games which you eventually got bored of and when you look at games you compare them to the games you have
I didn't know that was an actual game but I've been waiting for the price to drop Holy crap that looks awesome but are the maps going to be that cluttered when it's released?
I often have that problem too I've learned to wait though, because more often than not, I'll buy an app, and a week later the price drops.
Ew. Six-string is WAY unreasonable when it comes to purchasing songs. It should have bundles for 99 cents rather than each song...
That's what I thought when I looked at it! They should have made the game itself 99 cents and then the in-app purchases would not be so bad.
I'm going to plus one on both of these. Both are in my very regular rotation, and have just an excellent level of quality and polish.
If it were 7.99 with unlimited song downloads (like Tap Tap revenge with their one-time fee and optional purchase for complete album packages) I would probably still buy it because it looks amazing. Maybe if we start a separate thread and get a bunch of whiners, they'll see it and change their ways lol! I'll probably have to get train conductor 'cause I've had my eye on that one for a while
I agree completely! There is a thread for the game already: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=48483&page=4 Hopefully the devs are reading this and maybe will change their pricing layout...*fingers crossed*. I don't mind paying the $5, but I definitely don't want to end up paying a dollar extra for every song including the price of the game itself. I will see how much longer I can hold out until I crack
