What's everyone's take on Death? (the band). Both old and new. I've been jamming on "Symbolic" while I have been in the office (been running reports and having meetings all day) and my last meeting ended up very bad. Consequently I am listening to some angry fast and technical music. AKA Death.

To stay as simple as possible, I. don't like 'em. Opeth is as death metal as I go, this is too much. : D

I hear ya. I figured I'd aim em at you anyways since their vocals arn't as harsh and they have really technical parts in their music for being a death metal band. It's even hard for me to categorize them as such since they have such tech-ie parts to their music. But yeah they've been all I've listened to today. I'm ****ing heated.

Idk man... Not a huge fan of their vocals. Just ain't hitting me, really. I've never been a fan of that style of screaming to be honest. It's not bad, I've just hated that style of screaming, and that seems to take the forefront in Death.

So, what're you guys thinking about the new Underoath?

Sick stuff man... Although watchin the bald dude from Divine Heresy try to do the hair flip thing was pretty hilarious. Great music though, exactly what I was looking for.

Anyone here like Demon Hunter? I've been going over old music I used to listen to quite a bit, and just remembered them today.

Individual thought patterns is fantastic, all their albums are fantastic regardless of how rough the vocals were in their earlier days. I love all those albums too (Scream Bloody Gore - Human) I just love their latter stuff just a tad more. Glad to see a Death fan out there =D

Demon Hunter is teh sick, though not a huge fan of the lyricsan be a little Christian-ie) but they are f*ckin metal all the same.

    Yeah I know ^.^

If you come across any with harsh ones though, send em my way. I love folk metal with both types, esecially ones that combine the 2 (Like Ensiferum/Wintersun)

Nice I will definitely check them out as well. I think I had a friend who was into Moonsorrow but I may be mistaking it for someone else.

Haha, nice recommendation man. When my friend told me about it, I thought it'd be kinda stupid, but a few songs turned out to be really catchy. Actually, it kinda reminds me of this other dude who does guitar covers of well known themes. Here's a couple:

Never heard of the Black Mages eh?

It's Nobuo Uematsu's (the music behind many Final Fantasy games) symphonic metal band. Really good, but all the songs (most of them anyways) are based on a Final Fantasy song. So if you don't like final fantasy music (which I can see you liking) then I wouldn't bother. But at least give this one a chance. It's really good.

How about the second part? Just curious. >.>
