The results from last week are in! First place, with 24 votes goes to Trigger Fist. Second place goes to Organ Trail: Director's Cut, which got 20 votes. Super Mole Escape comes an honorable third, at 16 votes. Congratulations to all the winners! Last week's thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=147630 The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be the GOTW. Please note: 1) Devs cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it. 2) This voting is for TA members - no outsiders allowed. You cannot bring outsiders to join simply to vote and increase your ranking in this thread. Notice of this poll will be given in the threads of all nominated games. Additional games that spring up in the next few days will be added to the OP, so no worries. Please wait until Thursday to begin giving nominations - this is so that we can get the majority of games listed before making decisions. Feel free to help out and list games I haven't added yet. I'll post the pending NZ releases to alert the community to them. You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New" tab. http://appshopper.com/games/new/ Major games out this week: Bad Hotel Thread Video Critter Escape Thread Video Disney Fish Hooks Thread Video Flips Escape Thread Video Horn Thread Video Jack Lumber Thread Video Mad Skills BMX Thread Video Meeblings Thread Puzzle Craft Thread Video Random Heroes Thread Video Tread of the Dead Thread Video Thread Video
Tread of the Dead Horn Jack Lumber Mad Skills BMX Flip's Escape Sorry, Random Heroes...hate to say it, but it's a little disappointing.
Some folks on GAF say it looks like a **** week, but it looks pretty good to me. Granted, there's nothing mind-blowing, but definitely some worthy picks. Puzzle Craft is looking like the darling for this week, though.
Guess the genre of Horn is not for everyone, but it's an amazing game at the right price. No IAPs, the story is well-written right from the start, and appeared to be lengthly. It's a benchmark-type of game so it's got my full vote.
I initially also thought that id enjoy only a couple of titles from this week's releases, but man some of these games were simply surprising and surpassing expectations.
Though I haven't played the game (I'm still on a 3GS), I have to admit, after watching some gameplay, it looks like a lot more game than what initial impressions led me to believe. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily call it a benchmark, but more of a slight evolution of the IB formula. They basically gave people what they ultimately wanted from the IB games: the ability to explore. There's definitely some cool stuff going on there, and at that price -- lest we forget what we still pay for console games -- it's a damned fine deal, especially when you consider Gameloft is charging the same for the most recent Batman game and adding IAP on top of that. But I know it's still something I've already had my fill of. I don't begrudge anyone enjoying this game. It's probably great if that's what you're in the mood for.
I'm really tempted to check that one out. Looks like about the closest thing to Excitebike you can get on iOS.
