The graphics are painfully retro but, DANG, the core game is so simple and elegant it is amazing! Sort of like Dungeon Raid but your character is on the board in the heat of the action. Fighting is a simple affair, swap places with a monster and the highest power wins. If that isn't you, game over. How do you build your power? Match sets of tiles your specific chosen character likes (some block types when matched will even let you take a special action) while avoiding making swapped sets of the blocks you don't like. This same system also works for the monsters so with every move you need to figure how will making a set of this symbol effect me and the baddies AS WELL AS how it will effect my positioning on the board (need to keep away from the more powerful baddies while charging the smaller one. Take the knight, for example, his power grows with every set of swords or shields you match...but watch out, since every set of scrolls you match will hurt your knight slightly. Match a set of swords and not only will he get a nice boost in power but he'll be able to do his special move where he CRUSHES an adjacent block (or nicely damages a monster in that space). The game has a great sense of style and humor, I especially like the long winded into story 6/5!! strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #3 strivemind, Apr 30, 2014 Found an official trailer: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel The trailer also links to a free HTML5 demo. kioshi Well-Known Member Apr 9, 2011 880 0 0 Brazil #4 kioshi, Apr 30, 2014 This seems lovely, I got it but kinda crash prone on my iPhone 5s. HumbleSloth Active Member Apr 30, 2014 29 3 3 #9 HumbleSloth, Apr 30, 2014 Haha okay I see what's going on. The instructions to tap are on your character and the squares around him flash. I thought I was trying to tap my character at the time when the flashing square was the one I wanted to crush or something like that, but nothing ever seemed to happen. Instead what you do is just tap the square you want to crush. Thanks! So far I'm having the toughest time with the Druid and kicking butt with the Paladin (2 turns of invulnerability is pretty amazing). kennfusion Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Dec 2, 2008 393 0 0 Brooklyn, New York #11 kennfusion, Apr 30, 2014 When you are playing a character, is there any key that tells you what each tile type will mean to your character, or is it just trial and error? By the way, I'm sorry about the crashes that seem a bit too frequent on current version... I'm currently uploading an update on iOS with several fixes on 2 crashes (including the one mentioned above) + Game Center leaderboards fix + thief unlock condition fix + bigger font on characters for a better experience on phones. Items you swap can also power up the enemies, which, in some ways reminds me of Desktop Dungeons, in that most of the time your options are very limited, sometimes there is nothing you can do but die. And often you can get into this loop where your enemies power rises at the same rate as yours, giving you no way out. But that kinda makes it hard core in a good way. Definitely like this game. I know the bosses are introduced, but it would really help me to make informed decisions about my swipes. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
