    updated Feb 3rd 2014

Game release date is this Friday February 7th 2014

    ONLY ONE

Fast paced arena style hack and slash game Only One is game where you kill enemies and throw them off a sacrificial pillar in the sky with your magic sword as you gain power and abilities to ultimately become the 'Only One' left standing!

I was inspired by Highlander and Jet Li's The One

    Here is the trailer

Love the graphics. Reminds me of an old arcade game (Think its' Motos') where you push the enemy off screen.

It also had 'holes' open up in the middle of the playing field which was a good twist, be good to do the same in your game ?

Looking forward to this, controls seem great, love the graphics. Hope theres a bit of change in the game so its not so 'samey'

Damn I have to check out Motos, get some more ideas, thanks!

I hope to add more abilities, and more enemies, IAP to either buy the game or to buy xp to speed up grinding

    Looks awesome! Can't wait!
Will there be endless mode, set levels, or both? I hope there's endless replay value!

Just because nobody said anything for a week doesent mean that the game is abandoned. The game is in alpha stage already, so I'm pretty sure it won't get abandoned.

Yes! I'm here, I've been busy doing:
    - an XP system (with some XP IAP for ppl who want to speed through the game)
    - special abilities (plan for 6)
    - stat upgrades (health, shields, attack damage, speed)
    - traits or passive abilities about 8 or so (2x damage from behind, health regen, snare on hit, ect..)
    - a whole user interface to tie it all together (this has taken a lot of time)
    - more enemies

    To answer your question:

The game will have about a 100 or so levels, random type of enemies in each, random events, but progressively getting harder.

If you die you can either restart at the last 10th level, half way down, or from the very beginning. So your constantly trying to climb up that ladder and gain more xp and more abilities as you go.

I plan on adding more enemies like wizards, summoners, rogues, a cyclops, berserkers, and anything that legitimately makes the game play better.

Variety in enemies and various ways of killing them should hopefully make the replay value better. The level itself will probably not change. It's progressive arena survival combat.

Game will probably be free, with an 0.99 cent IAP purchase to unlock the last half of the game and for buying additional XP if you want more abilities to play with, without grinding for em.

    Cant wait for this !

One of my old favourite underated arcade games was 'Motos', you had to basically push things off the side of the main platform like you do in this video

Has on screen controls (great), love the retro style graphics/tune, i would offer to beta test but i dont want it ruining the experience when i first get the app !!

Cant wait for this one, following on twitter now

Yah I know it's a long time coming, I can't wait to get it out there, I won't let ppl play to early because there still a lot of stuff left to add. But closer to release. I'll keep you posted! Will be updating here every now and then. I hope to be done in November!

    New Videos

    Getting close to release

Here are 2 videos of two characters

Loot Gnome - cheeky little comes to steal your loot then leaves, inspired by golden axe's thief and diablo 3's treasure goblin

Berserker - big guy who tries to push you off the pillar

Looks great, and I feel like this game would be loads of fun with co-op/vs multiplayer (Perhaps as an available option to those who paid for the full version of the game). Is there any possibility of this in the future? I'll be buying it regardless, it just seems like a perfect fit for that sort of thing

Multiplayer would be awesome, I'd like to do it in the future.

Game will be Free to Play, but there will be no exclusive currency, exclusive items or pay to win. You can try to finish the game without ever spending a penny on skill alone. Grinding gets you power(xp) which allows cool abilities and stat increases. There will be xp doubler as IAP.

Here are some gifs of Push and Freeze Abilities

Then I'll be paying for IAPs in order to show some support. ;)
I totally dig the art style and sound design, as well as the concept. Keep up the great work!
