I played through two levels of this. You would have to be seriously hard up for an action RPG to put this on your device. Pretty much everything about it is either boring or broken.

Your little guy runs around like the Flash and the monsters mob him like a magnet. It's no problem on the first level where the damage seems to be set so low you can stand still and not get hurt, but on the second level it all bumps up and you're constantly being overwhelmed.

You get a sword, fire, electric and ice magic, and a bow. The bow is pretty useless because most of the enemies run up to you like a magnet. You really need the magic to survive. The best tactic seems to be to get mobbed and then fire all three magics, then run away with the mob on your heels until they cool down and fire them again, then pick off stragglers with your sword. If you try to go toe to toe slashing you'll just drain your health, because there's no parry or evasion system that you can control. You have a shield but if it's blocking hits it was doing it automatically.

The environments are bland and non-interactive, there's some really bad Engrish, and there's no real feeling of RPG progression since you get all of your spells and items at the beginning and leveling is automatic. Some of the enemy models look cool, though. You can tell the designers were proud of them because they included a model viewer.

One weird thing is that when your guy or a treasure chest gets hit it's represented with a fire effect.

The ad was really annoying in the first level. It went away on the second one, though. I don't know if it was supposed to, I ran into some glitches like being able to walk through walls and save points spawning me on the wrong sides of walls.

Folks, don't try to play this on an iPhone 3GS, itouch 3rd gen or iPad 1.
The engine needs a massive overhaul.

It's surely strange - Orc: Vengeance, Heroes Call or Order & Chaos run smooth or at least only stutter only once in a long while. This one is a dia show.

About the ad banner: kill app from task list, switch device to flight mode, start app from the scratch - banner gone.
Works with most apps which have ad banners.

There was a playable Unity demo of this game back in 2009. Back then it seemed like an impressive beginning. What's sad is that what NuOxygen has released in 2012 is almost exactly what was on the demo 3 years ago. In fact, the reason the character runs so fast (I'm almost certain) is that the code was not optimized for the faster CPUs of today's devices.

In any event, there is certainly no reason for anyone to spend money on this.

This game is in no ways worth the free price tag. It's boring, repetitive, and just ugly as sin. There's plenty of other good games to play. Don't waste your time with this.

Hi if you bought the game for 4.99$ that was a high price we are sorry. The game is intended to go free with ads. In any case we can give you back the money. The reason behind this price fall is not just a marketing strategy but a way to gain visibility at launch, due to price discounts triggering alerts. We are sorry for the marketing strategy. On one side you can ask a refund from Apple or we can give you promos for our games or gift you a game. Ancient Quest was intended to go free anyway.
Best

Fair play to come here and post.

I'll be quite happy to pay 99c for this just to get rid of that annoying ad banner at the bottom. Dont think i've seen any other game which has an ad like that in the actual game itself (menus yes but not the actual gameplay)

Bizarre
