The game was great from the start but the developer has continued to improve it a heck of a lot, responding primarily to player feedback from TA, which tells you something--these guys are committed to putting out the best game possible. Uwan, any word on your next project? UwanStudio Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2010 81 0 0 #6 UwanStudio, Nov 21, 2011 medianotzu, We are starting to develop an iPad version and will continue to improve the iPhone/iPod one. They are not universal but we hope we can add more stages in the first quarter of 2012. They may be in the form of missions. Some missions are long as stages, some are only a boss. Just a thought, no explicit plan. Our new trailer: medianotzu Well-Known Member Nov 21, 2009 3,803 9 36 #7 medianotzu, Nov 21, 2011 So missions as in like scoring challenges? I like that... I guess what I was wondering is if you have plans to develop any other shmups on the horizon. UwanStudio Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2010 81 0 0 #8 UwanStudio, Nov 22, 2011 medianotzu, Currently No, we don't have plans to develop horizontal shmups. The only thing we can do is to enhance Lightning Fighter as possible as we can. What Medianotzu meant is, do you plan to release any more schmups, of any kind. "On the horizon" just means "in the future". awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #10 awp69, Nov 22, 2011 Last edited: Nov 22, 2011 Since none of the Cave shmups work on 2Gs. I'm tempted to get this, but would need to delete some other games to fit it. How would those who have it say it compares to something like Phoenix (currently probably the best shmups I can play)? wilflare Well-Known Member Jul 2, 2011 929 0 0 Singapore #11 wilflare, Nov 22, 2011 any idea how much the iPad version will be? and will it be Universal? ^^ for a moment i thought Little Fighter had come to iOS medianotzu Well-Known Member Nov 21, 2009 3,803 9 36 #12 medianotzu, Nov 22, 2011 Aw, that's kind of a shame. I would love to see your take on, say, a WWII era-type shooter or just a sequel to Lightning Fighter. That's right, although I think UwanStudio understood the second time I asked. I should remember not to use such localized phrases when speaking with non-native English speakers, so it's my fault. Other than the CAVE games and Infinity Gene, this is at the top of my list followed by Super Laser (which is the game it probably most resembles), and Ultrablast. This game has a level of polish that is similar to that of Phoenix SD (doesn't have full HD graphics but on a 2nd gen you won't mind) and Danmaku Unlimited. Although, again, it's not a bullet hell it does contain some fairly dense bullet patterns, especially when facing bosses. The campaign is pretty long (I believe it's 8 levels?) for this type of game and there is a lot of enemy variety and levels all look appreciably different. There's a level that takes you through an asteroid field and one that has you storming a space station. Looks great and is a lot of fun to play, and the dev team as you can see has put a lot of effort into updates and continues to support the game. In summary: for 99 cents, or $1.99 you really can't go wrong. The only games in the shmup genre that I'd put appreciably above this are those by CAVE and Taito's Space Invaders: Infinity Gene. Otherwise this one is right on par with the best shmups for iOS. UwanStudio Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2010 81 0 0 #13 UwanStudio, Nov 23, 2011 @AnarKitty Sorry, I misunderstood what Medianotzu meant. Think that as another kind of games. @awp69 I have an iPod Touch 2nd 32G, too. And we can be sure it works. You can try the FREE version first. @wilflare No idea how much iPad will be. Maybe I will come back to TA and ask you. It will not be a universal. We saw CAVE just published an iPad game only for iPad 2 which means it is necessary to have two sets of graphics, if we want to support both iPad & iPad2. The iPhone version has already grow to 157MB. If we combine them to a universal, it must exceed 300~400MB. @medianotzu Yes, we have plans to develop a WWII shooter but the progress is extremely slow. The iPad version will be faster. We hope to add more localizations, fix minor bugs to 1.1.2, then more free levels to 1.1.3 or later. Also want to add some levels which is dedicated for players who love bullet hells (danmaku). The gameplay is not as smooth as it is in the trailer... is the full version run smoother (60fps) than the free version? UwanStudio Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2010 81 0 0 #16 UwanStudio, Nov 23, 2011 rann, which device do you use? The trailer is recorded by a iPad 2 which runs very fast. The game is designed on 30 frames per second. rann Well-Known Member Feb 14, 2011 934 0 16 #17 rann, Nov 23, 2011 I see. Anyway, I was using iPod Touch 4G to play the free version (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
