The game brings some new gameplay elements to the word game genre:

* Balls fall and pile up in physics-modeled animation
* Spell words from any set of letters, in order to prevent them piling too high
* Spelling a word calls in the wrecking ball, which scatters the playing field
* Power-ups and progressive challenges, as well as penalties make it easy to pick up, but hard to master
