At $.99 though, this is a ridiculous bargain for anyone who loved the first game or is willing to give a rather old school FPS a chance. backtothis im in ur base killin ur d00dz Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Jul 13, 2009 13,250 1 0 college student (junior) Houston/Austin, TX https://twitter.com/back2this #2 backtothis, Aug 2, 2012 Last edited: Aug 2, 2012 What if I didn't like the first game at all? Unfortunately, once I got to experience the combat, the inadequacy of the controls (partly a device issue to be fair) really came into focus. The dumb-as-door-nails AI doesn't help. Neither do "puzzles" consisting of running around rooms looking for switches. Half an hour or so in, I really couldn't clear the 1.4 gb(!) of space this takes up on my iPad fast enough. Agh, I need to buy other iTunes card ASAP. Anyway, just bought this, and so far... I don't like the icon
Sounds good to me. Plus, there's multiplayer along with a bunch of other features included. Should be fun.
squarezero saves the day! Just when I gave up on this Wednesday's iOS releases...BOOM one of my all-time favorite 'iOS classic's' (what I would consider in AppStore history ) finally drops the sequel. All I can say...PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!! Looking forward to 8pm PST.
I wished there would be a sequel to this for just about ever, and I'm thrilled it finally happened; can't wait to play it!
Not really a big fan of the original, and the file size is a definite turn-off, but I still can't quite resist giving this a go for a buck.
After few minutes playing, I think that you should be buying this NOW. The gameplay is very cool (it's not a mindless shooter), the graphics aren't like NOVA's, but they don't suck. The only think I don't like is the UI. I wish I could write a better review, but I'm tired
Yeah outside of the extremely dedicated two person indie dev team, The Infinity Project just felt right for iOS and I loved pretty much everything (outside of the lack of control customization which I adjusted to after a while) on my iTouch 2G at the time. The sci-fi setting, storyline, graphics, free roaming environments that didn't feel linear, different enemy types, weapon diversity, being able to interact and loot so many different things, and the list went on. I always felt it was underrated but considered it a classic from the time I spent with the game. I could only imagine how much #2 has expanded since an cant wait to try it out. I am a little upset at the low price point, but hopefully it sells well because these Devs deserve every penny.
For 99 cents, I might bite. Can't lose with the price, even tho I absolutely hated the first. Yes, I said I hated the first one. I'm hoping the free roam element will help me enjoy the sequel.
They're really not that similar. Nova 3 felt like you were going from set-piece to set-piece; IP2 feels more like a game, not a "current gen console game", if that makes any sense. I think folks who are looking for a Halo/Crysis experience prefer Nova 3 (by far). Folks who appreciate old-school shooters will probably enjoy IP2 more. How's that for a non-answer?
Game Impressions This sucked me in for about the first 20 minutes. It really does a fine job of re-creating the "feel" of the FPS circa Half-Life era.
