Yep - I got me one - now I want an engrossing strategy game.

I like tanks, planes, boats, robots, wizards, dragons, bikes, ants and evil cartoon clowns.

Point is, I don't care what I'm click'draggin, I just want a fullfilling strategy game along the lines of C&C.

Apart from C&C Red Alert, what other "good" strats are there out there that people can recommend please?

Land Air Sea Warfare, it's currently iPhone only. but i talked to the dev and he's working on an iPad version. just search for it in the appstore for a list of the features.

It actually looks great on the iPad as is.

Look at Battle for Wesnoth, too.

Don't disagree -- it would be great to see as much terrain on the iPad as you do on the PC. My point is that it's a viable game for the iPad as is.

i can't disagree with you considering the fact that i haven't played it double-pixelled, i haven't even played it on the iphone. i just tried the PC demo out, which i thought was awesome!

I did not know about Land Air Sea Warfare..... its very good even on the iPad.

Wesnoth is the grand daddy of Strategy for the iPad.... right now. Dominion HD is a Risk clone that just came out

    Wow, Early Christmas, eh?

    U into TBS or RTS?

TBS > Battle for Wesnoth, Rogue planet

RTS > Land Air Sea Warfare, The Settlers

I like both TBS and RTS, probably RTS for the win. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Don't forget the now much more stable via the recent patch (albeit still a bit spendy at $12.99) Civilization Revolution!

Gameloft announced The Settlers HD on E3. And Square Enix announced Final Fantasy Tactics (for iPhone) too.

Plus just released The War of Eustrath HD (a well reviewed SRPG). It's a pity that Highborn was not good enough. I expected that game originally.

However, it's now a good time to be a strategy game lover and iPad owner. Just wait when will Nintendo announce Fire Emblem and Ogre Battle on iPad. (NEVER).

Galcon. Over 20 people online playing at any given time. Simple, pure RTS strategy without any frills. So simple you will cry like a baby when you get whipped again and again.

Battle for Wesnoth HD is the iPad-native version, and uses the whole screen.

Too simple for my tastes, I prefer LASW.
