The original game was created in the late 70s for an UNIX variation called BSD. Here's an implementation for ARDUINO We should remove the turtles... I remember playing a monochrome shareware variation of this circa 1990 on my Amiga 500. It was called Dr. Who, the enemies were Daleks, and there was no Safe Smoke equivalent. You had a Sonic Screwdriver which you could use once per round instead, which fried all Daleks in adjacent squares. Apart from some other cool add-ons, looks like the same concept but instead of a "turn-based" the concept is the same. Limited movement robots and a way to kill them is to make them touch each other. Thank you for the tip. mr_bez Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2012 2,053 3 38 #7 mr_bez, Feb 26, 2014 Wow. Good find, but no. This ran in a Workbench window and was incredibly basic graphically. Single colour static sprites. Played exactly like this except the aforementioned differences, but there's no trace of it on the Internet. I'd be surprised if more than a handful of people ever played it. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #8 nightc1, Feb 26, 2014 Last edited: Feb 26, 2014 This is a pretty awesome port/update of a classic. Mongapop Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2014 138 0 0 http://www.mongapop.com #9 Mongapop, Feb 26, 2014 ok nightc1. Everyone has the right to make mistakes. And we're trying to fix it. We removed Flash Gordon from the App Store. We're adding some other stuff like shooting in 4 directions and scan lines option. Those changes were just a desperate attempt to improve sales numbers, but, now that sales are around ~1 every two days and a game like Flappy Birds gets a lot of attention, we just don't care anymore. We're just trying to make something barely funny. Any suggestions for the new "Flash Gordon"? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #10 nightc1, Feb 26, 2014 Just call it something generic so it'll be easy to tell others about it. Just not Flappy Asteroid Killer 2600! I think you'll gain more fan base that way because the actual games are fun and I am all about good fun games. Hmm here's an idea. Rename each game to Retro Nostalgia ______, with the blank bing a word that describes the game or gameplay being reproduced. Tying the games together wil also help cross promote them as a series. This one would be Retro Nostalgia Robots. ninja Jewels could be Retro Nostalgia Jewels. It's just an idea. I want you to succeed at making games and building a fanbase willing to buy them. I was thinking about creating a retro match-3 as well, using some graphics inspired by ZX Spectrum. What do you think? IMHO, Retro Nostalgia would be too big. Here's the icon: And a couple of screenshots: Personal favorite: loading screen: (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
