Hello guys,
We have been busy discussing the new features of Descent and also adding some animation and brushing up the graphics. We have 1.0.1 already under the review process and 1.1 coming up ready for submission once 1.0.1 is approved. Things are a bit slow now since my Macbook Pro died over the weekend and I just found out that it will cost me 1800 to get it repaired. So I have to shop around for a Macbook Air now to replace it as a Macbook Air will cost me less than 1800 and it will be brand new too. Anyway, let me give you a little background on why we created Descent. In late November, we had a potential big project coming in, so I ramped up hiring and got a new office for my guys, but at the last minute. The deal didn't go through, so I didn't want to let my new guys go since it is Christmas and we already have some rapport going. So that is why I put them to work on Descent during the Christmas period instead of laying them off. It was a bit of a rush since it is Christmas and holidays and all, but we did managed to achieve our goal of submitting 1.0 out after the Christmas holidays. We are also aware that there are quite a fair bit of stuff missing and need to be improved. So here are some screenshots of the new graphics in the game itself Windows now have a nice border around it Tiles now have background color When you match tiles, text will appear showing the amount of damage, coins or health healed. |

1 thing that we discovered is that adding quests would be a good way to spice things up. So we have decided to add quests in the game. But typical RPG quests are the type where
1 - Go talk to some dude 2 - The dude tells you to go to some area to kill a monster 3 - You go and kill the monster 4 - Then you go back to the dude and he gives you a reward These type of quests are quite boring, so if you have any suggestions for interesting quest ideas, do share it with me because I am all ears
