Got Mushroom Wars on iPad when it was a fully paid download. Got the update and when I traded my old iPad for an iPad Mini, saves didn't transfer over with the backup and now the game I paid $3.99 for went from paid to free to try and no longer have the full game. I already spent $3.99, and pretty much lost what I paid for because the developers decided to make it from a premium app to a free app. Ugh, never buying anything from this developer again. oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #6 oooooomonkey, Jul 10, 2013 Haha I agree, Move along no one is going to give you any more money. Note to dev: See Rage of Gladiator on how to do freemium after releasing a paid app. I remember when they went free they even advertised "free for a limited time". Yeah, right. Another way to lure people into the web of deceit. Another shameless dev that was added to the do not buy list. i-Free Well-Known Member Jan 7, 2013 79 0 0 http://iamvegend.com/ #11 i-Free, Jul 10, 2013 Hi jeffyg3, Is it's been said many times here that if you had any issues with Mushroom Wars, please send a message to our customer support through http://mushroom-wars.com/form.html Many of those who suffered from the distribution model switch have contacted us, were given their access again and continue enjoing the game these days. By any means, we didn't want to have anyone suffer from any issues in the first place, but there's nothing we could automate in case one traded/lost their devices. Still, we can easily restore campaign access. Devs that care about their customers release a separate app if they want to go freemium. Saving yourself the hassle of having two apps to maintain is not a reason to make your customers jump through hoops. The vast majority of your customers don't read these forums anyway. When it came time to pay for the levels, I was immediately willing to pay, as I thought the gameplay was great, but seeing how this situation was treated by the developer, I deleted the app before I bought the additional levels. I personally refuse to support a developer that will inconvenience their customers for a financial gain. Sort of like me having a no IAP policy with purchasing games. We aren't all going to agree, but it's good to be informed of the stuff some devs do just as a precautionary measure for future purchases. So far I've rarely been burned with a purchase other than with sales and I don't mind sales since more often than not, I'm benefiting from them. It's hard to remember all the times others were burned though... so reminders are nice. I think it's possible for a dev to try and make up for a bad past decision... similar to a friend doing you wrong. It's a few bucks not $60... perspective matters too. As for this game, not going to even consider it as a purchase. Sorry. OrionnoirO Well-Known Member Jul 12, 2010 242 0 0 Anderson,IN #18 OrionnoirO, Jul 15, 2013 I gladly purchased it, then was stuck in an IAP loop from hell where it knew I had purchased the levels but wouldn't download the unlock... I finally figured out a way around this after testing various methods, but buyer beware - especially if you are jail broken in this case. It is a fun game but I do hate the crashing periodically, especially when you do multiplayer and finish a match, or even attempt one.
