I saw Jigsaw Puzzle Box and the free Jigsaw Puzzle Art ones, but nothing really stuck out as great one. Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated!
I like Padzzle quite a bit. It has a good variety of pictures included and you can import your own. You can either play in easy mode without the pieces rotated or allow the rotation. You can also choose between large and small piece sizes. I really recommend Padzzle. I haven't tried others to compare, but I haven't really felt the need.

This iPad app has three.Puzzle #1 (16 pieces) -- Slide the pieces into the open spaces until the image is reassembled.Puzzle #2 (64 pieces) -- Slide the piece to its appropriate location. However, each piece might be rotated. Double-tap an image to turn it counter-clockwise.Puzzle #3 (192 pieces) -- Touch a tile to make it disappear. However, this will change the state of adjacent tiles. Adjacent tiles that are invisible will reappear, while visible tiles will disappear. How many can you clear out? (The lowest I could get was two tiles left. I don't know if it can go any lower. Can you do better than the developer?)You can reset the game and return to the puzzle select screen by touching and holding the screen for five seconds. Hi there, I just stumbled over this forum post and thought maybe I should put in my two cents. I have tried a majority of the jigsaw puzzle apps available for the iPad. Many of them have good ideas that are poorly implemented. The best so far that I have used is "Jigsaw Puzzles". I know, the name is cheesy, but it has some really great features. Definitely my favorite of the bunch! tecwrtr Well-Known Member Aug 18, 2010 586 0 16 Senior Technical Writer Richmond, VA #11 tecwrtr, Sep 17, 2010 Thanks, Dave! That is one of the ones that made it to my final cut. I know the name's cheezy, but it looks good. The other one that made it was Jigsaw Box, which went on sale yesterday - one day after I paid full price. Thanks for the recommendation! It's free now. I prefer illustrations jigsaw over plain stock photos jigsaw. Using stock photo is far easier and cost less for the developer, but it's harder and less fun for player. Good exclusive illustrations for jigsaw will have lots of details in the background, and it adds more fun. But not many jigsaw apps use illustrations over stock photos, and fewer have good taste about illustrations. Jigsaw Mansion has the best illustrations in jigsaw apps I knew. Highly recommend. cptlockheed Well-Known Member Dec 12, 2008 213 0 0 IT professional since the 80's Finland #18 cptlockheed, Feb 27, 2011 Last edited: Feb 27, 2011 Reviving an old thread as I was recently looking out for jigsaw puzzle apps. The best and most feature-rich app for me proved to be Astra HD. Best of all, it is free with a taster pack of puzzles and photo import. I had a long pause from the hobby when I ran out of time and space to keep the puzzles under construction. Now they are handily stored on my iPad (just like my books in Stanza, or guitar effects, synths and recording studio in apps like Ampkit, iMS-20, Nanostudio and Looptastic HD, and board games like Samurai, Ra and Through the Desert playable both with friends or alone... IPad really has proved to be the Swiss Army knife for me Edit: oops, I only now noticed the other thread on ipad games forum about the Join-It jigsaw puzzle app which seems to get much praise (also mentioned by shaman two posts above). Looks promising, but has only pieces up to 300, and no trays or virtual tables? join_it Well-Known Member Dec 20, 2010 75 0 0 http://dstudiosoft.com #19 join_it, Mar 4, 2011 Hi there! Other than that, it's hands-down the winner. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
