App description: Classic platforming meets modern design in a game built and optimised for touch controls.

The Driftlands are a gothic and frightening place at the best of times. And this is not the best of times. The Aurora stone has been stolen from the great Lighthouse by an unknown and shadowy creature. Without its light, the Driftlands will be destroyed.

Enter Oscura our highly unlikely hero. He is the keeper of the lighthouse, and possesses a mysterious eternally glowing hand. Oscura must travel the lands and gather the shards to restore the Aurora stone - before it is too late and darkness befalls on the whole universe.

CLASSIC PLATFORMING MEETS MODERN DESIGN
Inspired by early platformers from the 1990s, Oscura delivers a stripped down platforming experience through the filter of modern game and art design.

BUILT FOR TOUCH
Built for touch devices from the ground up, Oscura: Second Shadow is optimised and designed around the capabilities and limitations of touch to ensure that the controls are never at fault.

DARK FAIRYTALE WORLD
Dive into the world of the Driftlands, where engineering meets nature and strange creatures stalk. With the Aurora stone shattered, Oscuras glowing hand and the shards of the stone are the only light sources, creating a stark and beautiful silhouette art style.

HAUNTINGLY STYLIZED LEVELS
Journey through 20 challenging levels, each crafted by hand rather than using tile-sets.

AN UNLIKELY HERO
Slight of frame and without any weaponry or brute force, Oscura must rely on his wits and reflexes to avoid foes and hazards alike. Hes no hero, just doing his job.

CHALLENGES TO KEEP YOU COMING BACK
Completing levels is one thing, collecting all four stars for each level is quite another. Replay levels to perfect your run and beat the goals for time, collecting cogs, shards and getting through without dying.

Oscura: Second Shadow is a Universal App and is compatible with iPod 4, iPod 5, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad Mini Retina.

I'm still not too far in - right now I just got through Stage 8. Getting all 4 stars in each stage is going to take some determination (for me at least...).

I have ran into one issue...

In Stage 6, I pushed the movable jumping thingy that's under the gears (that you'll get thrown up in to if you're not careful), and a spikey bouncy enemy guy came up from the left side of the screen. I wound up pushing him away with the jumping platform whatever, and after that my jumping was incredibly... stiff. When I jumped off the jumping platform thing, the character wouldn't go in the direction I was pushing until he started coming down from the jump, even if I took a running start towards it. After I reached the higher area, I realized that it was the same with regular jumping as well. If moving forward and then pressing the jump button, the character would stop, jump straight up, and then continue to go right as he fell back towards the ground. I tried lifting up my finger after jumping and pressing right again, but the same thing would happen - wouldn't move until the character started falling back towards the ground. This continued until I closed the game, cleared it from my multitasking bar and restarted.

Besides that... I'm totally diggin it. I've 5 starred through Stage 7, but the Wayward Souls update has been keeping me incredibly busy. =o/

I can't wait to get into the real 'meat' of the game... Stages 12 or 13 through to 19 (hopefully 20 as well...) - oh yeah... I'm excited. =oD

I know it's early, but I wanna say that this is my GOTW. I just got Storm Casters - so we'll see. =oP

AHHHH!!! I'm in love with this game now...

With the issues I'm having with Storm Crashers, this doesn't have any real competition for my GOTW.
