I calculated mines, took a bit time but here it is. 2010: $121.55 2011 (so far): $73.68 Average: $97.62 You guys dont have to give exact numbers (cause Im crazy) just rough estimates. Im curious on if Im spending way more than or way little than that other people.
01/21/09-07/21/09: $117.38 07/22/09-01/21/10: $268.35 01/22/10-07/21/10: $218.79 07/22/10-01/21/11: $513.97 01/22/11-07/21/11: $409.41 ----- 07/22/11-10/21/11: $199.33 10/22/11-11/21/11: $58.11 11/22/11-today: $33.42 Highest two months: September 2010-$146.62, December 2010-$134.86 Averages: per year-$625.62, per month-$52.14 ------ I'm very good at keeping track of my spendings.
2009: $100 or so 2010: $80 or so 2011 (so far): About $50 I've spent less and less each year, mostly because of the decline in free time. When I have a couple of minutes to kill, I typically just read something in Safari instead of playing $0.99 endless runners. My purchases this year have being 'hardcore' games like MC3, cod zombies..
How are you guys calculating this? i have a rough estimate, but would be nice to know how much I have spent exactly..
In your account settings in iTunes there's a "Purchase history" that you can go through and add up the totals. Or if you get emails from iTunes for each purchase receipt, then you can go through those too. But Backtothis probably keeps a running total as he goes so it's not as hard to keep track of it. I had to manually go through all mine to find out since I haven't been keeping track.
Yeah, I've been keeping track since a year ago. All I have to do is calculate from where I left off. I do it once a month to see how my spending habits have changed, if at all.
2011 ~70-80 If you ever had to learn how to use "pivot table" in Excel...you can do some pretty nifty/geeky things in tracking stats (granted there's better tools out there, but its overkill to me for just tracking my app spending habits). After buying a game, I just enter it in my Excel table, then through the power of "pivot tables", I can quickly arrange the data by year, month, genre, or anything else (depending on how I set up my table).
Just gonna eyeball it and say 400 to 500 this year. My wife was a little pissed this week, when she had to restore her phone and put her old apps on. All I heard was, "HOLY CRAP WHY IS THERE OVER 1000 APPS!" I lied and said almost all of those were free honey.
Why dont you guys just keep your iTunes cards? That's what I do. I started collecting my iTunes cards in the end of January this year, and I have exactly $580 worth of cards. But I did throw a couple out by accident so I'd guess that total is more around the $620 mark. The only problem is sometimes I get cards on sale so it's a bit less then that too. So in 11 months I've spend approx $600.. I'm assuming December will be a big month..as well as January.. It's a small price to pay to enjoy new releases each week.
I have my iPod touch for like, a year, and I have spent emmm... I think around 4 dollars ( even rhough I am European xD)
I've probably spent a few hundred overall. I'd be interested to see how much I've SAVED though. Most of the many, many apps I've downloaded were free because of sales (thank you AppShopper). I wish there was a way to see the average price (when it was a paid app) of everything you "purchased" and compare that to how much you have actually spent. I'm sure I've saved thousands...
