just curious? i know there is baseball heroes and 9 innings but no real MLB game though there is nfl, nhl, and fifa.
I know Gameloft made Derek Jeter Baseball or something like that a while back... Probably the closest you'll get to an official MLB game for now, and it's probably pretty cheap. Check it out, I guess.
Good question. I'm not sure exactly. Maybe it's just that all those other sports are more popular. But if that's not the case I don't know.

There actually a lot of baseball games in the App Store. Except that none of them are as high quality as sports games of other sports.

EA lost MLB licensing rights. 2K sports has that license, I believe. The MLB2k series is exclusive now. 2K did make their first iDevice game very recently with NHL2k, so perhaps that opens the door for an MLB2k game in the future. If EA still had their MLB licensing, there would definitely be a legitimate baseball game out right now, because EA is more committed to iOS development then any other Major multi-console developer.
Is the MLB licensing rights by 2K sports include mobile devices? And, this is for 1st party games only not 3rd party games. That's why there is MLB The Show for the PS3. Also, I ask about the mobile device part because if i'm not mistaken, EA doesn't have NFL mobile rights and thus the birth of Gameloft's football game for the iPhone. Just to throw my two cents in I really hate this exclusive license agreement. This all started because EA was too scared of 2K's football games. A lot of hardcore gamers thought 2K had the better football game. EA then paid a huge amount for exclusive football rights. 2K then panicked and snatched up the 1st party rights for baseball. IMO neither franchise has put out quality football or baseball games since this happened. They both killed competition which used to make their games better. Well, there is competition on the MLB side now as The Show has clearly been the better baseball game the past couple of years.

Well, the two "official" console baseball games I can think of are the MLB2k series and MLB: The Show series. 2K Sports publishes the MLB2k games and Sony Computer Entertainment publish MLB: The Show. So they would have to get involved in the App Store for any chance of these games having iDevice versions.
